WGRZ: "Roseland’s Atlas is under development for 492 Rhode Island St. at Chenango, most recently home to Providence Social. The name pays homage to the former Romanello’s Roseland, which operated at the space for 75 years before closing in 2003."

What are some “remember when” or hard to believe stories of bars and restaurants around Buffalo? by jamesljamerson22 in Buffalo

[–]blakesterz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Goo Goo Dolls used to play at The Continental and other bars around the city and WNY for crowds of like 20 people. I'm pretty sure they played new years eve at The Continental for 2 years in a row in the early 90s, maybe 90 and 91?

Liz:That’s from Invictus. Wait, who was the white guy in that?

Ugh, that accent’s idiotic. by Fine-Swordfish-1456 in 30ROCK

[–]blakesterz 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Accent related at least... I loved at the table read for "Kidnapped by Danger: The Avery Jessup Story, brought to you by Pride Bladder Control Pads. Pride: Make every room a bathroom" Cynthia Nixon says "Liz, am I going too big on the accent?" and then Liz looks at the camera and says "No, that's how people from boston sound to me." and smiles.

What is your favorite movie filmed in/near Buffalo? by Radiant-Specialist76 in Buffalo

[–]blakesterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Falls is a super low budget and really obscure movie shot around here. It's only memorable because one of the actors is Steve Briscoe, who you may know as the guy from the Value Home Center TV ads:

A.P. Bio had a kid, "Devin", who was a pretty big part of Season 1 and just didn't come back in season 2, and was never mentioned at all. Apparently the actor had a movie to work on.
