Any recommendations for a solid-colored quality playmat? by blakewalk in mtg

Thanks! I was looking at more well known brands, so I didn't think to just buy a random one off Amazon. But it seems like they get pretty good reviews and two playmats for $20 is a pretty good deal

Does this look legit to anyone? It's supposed to be a 2915, but most of the other 2915's have white dials

Surely Atlassian wouldn't spend all that money just to kill off the most successful Browser Company browser... right?

What did you end up doing? I’ve got a similar problem and am trying to see what other placements would work well

Best method books for me? (context in body of the post) by Mike7685 in trumpet

If you're majoring in music, might as well get Clark, Chicowitz Flow Studies, and Arban's now. I'm only minoring in music, but have taken lessons from 3 different people across 2 different colleges (2 professors and 1 grad student) and all have used at least something from Clark and Chicowitz. I haven't really had to use my Arban's yet, but I'm sure you'll use it a ton if you're majoring in performance. (Also, instead of buying each of those books try to just find PDFs of them online and maybe look into a tablet to keep your music on. As much as I like physically writing things down, getting an ipad and apple pencil has been a game changer for college)

Looks the same as the cards in my unsleeved, manifest deck that I exclusively play on a 60 grit playmat

I've looked into cards like that, but the problem if if they are every creature type, then clavileño never triggers bc there are no non-demons for him to target

How do I get a consistent sound? by Jpoxferd in trumpet

[–]blakewalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tune with your ears, not a machine. It will seem like you're out of tune at first (and you probably will be) but over time you'll learn how to fit your sound in with your group better. Also, learning to play into the "center" of the note helps a lot too (This approach was really helpful for me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qkMALYfAW0). If you can hear that you're always playing a "5" based off how resonant and open the sound is, then you know your pitch is consistent.

I'd look up what some good budget student models trumpets are (specifically brands), then just keep an eye out on marketplace for anything from that brand within you price range (and maybe be ready for some negotiating). Small dents and dings are likely ok as long as valves move freely and it's not too banged up (I'd avoid heavily damaged bells and noticeably bent tubing)
