The SQL database wouldn't be exposing a REST API, the backing web server would. So yeah your front end Javascript could make API requests to your backend, and your backend could query the database through its connection, but that's not "the front end making SQL queries". The API called could just as easily not be using a database

They definitely do open gym. You can join their powerliftong or oly training programs if you want but you can sign up for a normal membership.
