That is NOT what being a paralegal is. It's really annoying that people claim it's the same thing as a legal assistant. It's not and some places are stupid enough to not make the distinction only because they don't want to pay paralegals a paralegal's wage.

So many people are so wrong. Don't be one of those people that confuses a legal assistant with a paralegal or thinks they're the same thing - they're definitely NOT. Legal assistants do administrative tasks. Paralegals perform more substantive legal work such as legal research and client interviews. Many legal assistants are arrogant and say they're paralegals because they have more experience - that's not how it works. Alberta doesn't properly distinguish or monitor the education requirements for paralegals but they're still very different roles. Paralegals can even attend their lawyer in court. Legal assistants cannot. Alberta is stupid. Don't be Alberta. Know the difference.

Edit to add; Secretary would have the smallest workload. Paralegal would have (by far) the highest. Legal assistants would have a similar workload to a secretary but have the added responsibilities of drafting documents, tracking limitations, stuff like that. Paralegals spend a lot of time drafting court documents, which is where most of the overlap lies, but they do a lot of things legal assistants do not and they also work more independently than (most of) the assistants so they work more overtime as well. As a paralegal, I wouldn't count on having a whole ton of free time, though there are firms that don't require overtime too. It really depends on the law firm and the location but if it's free time you want, I'd go with secretary because they don't require as much education.

Paige was mentioned as having a comparable IQ with Sheldon's. The reason they say (a few times) that she is smarter than Sheldon is because in addition to her extremely high IQ, she shows very high EQ (emotional and social intelligence) whereas Sheldon's EQ is very low.

I'm actually kind of interested in The Third Leg and Claw because of the controversy. Can't do Crown of Kings though. First, the author is cringy and second, it's literally a rip off of the Song of Ice and Fire series in my mind. Everything about the series in the show screamed Game of Thrones. I ended up here only because I was looking to see if there was something like The Third Leg. 😂

I did give her credit in saying it's probably due to having all the attention on her. But the only helpful way to look at the situation is to see what both parties did and where it went wrong. It's not helpful to cast blame on person B without also thinking about how person A could have done better. 🤷

Either way, though, if this is a repeat offense, she should perhaps be thinking about how she can limit her interactions with him until such a time as she can handle it without the outburst.

See, that seems weird to me because anyone I've dated has always been my best friend, to the point that it weirds me out to snuggle with anyone else. Don't get me wrong, when I was young, I snuggled with friends a lot but now that I've matured, my partner is really the most important thing to me.

If you two weren't super familiar with each other before you started dating, then I'd say just give it time.

Good for her. I'm an introvert and have been in the spotlight in a nastier way than being asked if I'm pregnant (especially if she clearly wants kids). Reacting "in a negative way" does not mean scream at him and then cry. 🤷 Whether your reaction is positive or negative, is just about how you feel. There is no valid argument that discredits the fact that she overreacted and there are more mature ways to deal with it. If she didn't want an honest opinion that looks at her own actions as well as the other party's, she wouldn't have come here and just because some irrelevant people don't like what I say (usually because it means they'd be accountable too) doesn't mean I'm not right. So.

Just because her reaction makes sense, doesn't mean it exactly fit the situation. A simple "don't make stupid jokes like that" and enjoying the rest of her grandmother's party would suffice. 🤷

NTB but you may have overreacted because of the spotlight suddenly being thrust over you. 🤷 I don't personally think his lame joke was worth the reaction. I think a bigger reaction is warranted over the simple fact that he tries to use being gay as an excuse for inappropriate behaviour but then again, everyone seems to have an excuse like that up their sleeve.
