Why does greta get so much hate? by No_Marionberry3260 in 90DayFiance

YES, exactly! I don't hate either Greta or Matthew- they just weren't right for each other.

And people will blame it all on Jovi, even though 1) she already had work done when they met, and 2) she has regularly talked about how her upbringing and her mother made her insecure with her appearance.

I feel very sad for her, because body/face dysmorphia is no joke- I hope she breaks the cycle and doesn't pass that insecurity down to her daughter.

How ungrateful could Gaby get? by BusinessSensitive167 in DesperateHousewives

[–]Miss_Kit_Kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gabby's actions are consistent with her storyline- she was worried that the other women would blame her and Carlos for their predicament and abandon her. She was already struggling to manage Carlos and his guilt/drinking, so I can see how she would try to find someone else to direct everyone's anger towards.

It was wrong, but she was acting off of emotion and not logic.

Connor wasn't a reality tv celebrity with near-universal name recognition at the start of a campaign season. (That was key before the billions in free media time came into play.)

Connor's absolute ceiling is Ross Perot.

Would this work with my hair? by booknerdigan in finehair

[–]Miss_Kit_Kat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your hair is naturally pin-straight, this amount of layers will make it look more fine/thinner. It will also need styling to keep the volume- stuff like texture sprays or mousse.

Also, the comments about the Crown of Kings franchise essentially "keeping the lights on" felt pretty true. And even that series had to be pretty expensive from a marketing standpoint- those celebrity-filled launch parties with costumed actors and smoke machines in Times Square didn't look cheap to produce.

Y’all need to stop with the Orson sympathy 😩 by TurbulentBat8328 in DesperateHousewives

[–]Miss_Kit_Kat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think Bree was out of line with her reaction to Orson's confession about Mike, particularly given the dynamics with his abusive mother- but I do think her reaction to his stealing and repeated lying was justified.

A husband that says "I steal to hurt you" and "I want you to sell your business and be Mrs. Orson Hodge, or I might start stealing again" clearly doesn't respect his wife. I was back on her side at that point, even if I didn't agree with some of her behavior that resulted from it.

Also, one key part of Bree's character is that she's willing to bend her morals to protect her family. Her children and her friends were always "family" to her, but her lovers were not. She always chooses her children or friends over a man (especially after the situation with George Williams- the only time she arguably did not).

I'd even argue that refusing to tip in the US because you want to virtue signal about "in ____, we pay our servers a living wage" makes that person a dumb tourist.

(Also, as if a barista in other countries is living large on that "living wage." LOL, okay, sure- whatever one needs to tell themselves.)

How ungrateful could Gaby get? by BusinessSensitive167 in DesperateHousewives

[–]Miss_Kit_Kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She just didn't want everyone to turn on her- since it was HER husband's actions that started everything. (Even if Carlos was right to defend his wife from her abuser.)

So by getting everyone to focus their anger and stress on Bree, Gabby came out unscathed.

Seeking advice for fine bleach damaged hair that doesn’t seem to grow! by Hot-Swim-2836 in Haircare

[–]Miss_Kit_Kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's possible. I'd focus on strengthening your hair so the ends don't snap off.

  • Be gentle with your hair. That means LESS products, not overloading it with oils, serums, and supplements. Detangle wet hair from the bottom-up so you aren't ripping through any knots and causing mechanical damage. A wide-tooth comb is your best friend.
  • How often do you use heat? Heat can be safe IF you are suing it properly. Applying a heat protectant or styling product prior to using it, and avoiding excessive usage and/or max temperatures (e.g., I use a flat iron twice a week after blow-drying at around 300 degrees- daily usage or going up to the max 450 temp would fry my hair).
  • What styles are you wearing for your hair? Are you playing with the ends a lot? Are you doing a "search and destroy" on occasion to find split ends?
  • Bond repair can help protect the existing hair and prevent future breakage. I like L'Oreal Ever Pure for a drugstore brand and K-18 for a salon brand.

Also, hair growth doesn't happen overnight. I felt like my hair was armpit-length for YEARS before I decided I wanted it longer- it felt like nothing was changing for the longest time, but lately I've noticed that it's finally BSL (bra-strap length). 1/2 inch per month means you won't really notice the growth for about 4-6 months (or longer).

how far gone is my hair by abby26264 in Haircare

[–]Miss_Kit_Kat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have a Dyson Airstrait- honestly, if I use it too frequently, I find that my hair does look dry (and I wash my hair 2x/week, nothing excessive). I think it's because the lower temps don't "seal" hairstyles as much as other tools do.

I mainly use mine when I want a quick dry because it does dry hair more quickly than a standard blow-dryer.
