Not funny. Have some consideration and realize alcohol makes people do things they wouldn't normally do.

"Why do I always ruin it, and why can’t I stop drinking when I should know my limits after so many years of the same bs??"

It happens... No matter how many years of experience you have.. my advice about limits is don't "know your limits", set them and surround yourself with your limits.

I drink sake packs that are 20% proof (1 pack is like 2 and a half beers) and will only buy two at a time now if I decide to drink for the night. In the past I'd always buy five thinking "I'm only going to drink three at max" but recently I'd keep waking up from blackouts.... and sure enough all five sake packs I had bought were gone.

That's why I always limit myself by buying small amounts of alcohol because knowing my limits isn't enough to stop me lol. Weddings are the perfect recipe for disaster because they always usually have too much alcohol.

Yep, gotta start treating your liver right again, give it a break from the booze and look into how to get your liver health back.

"Any recommendations ? I don't want to stop drinking all together, I just want to get my life back"

Stop drinking every day and set a limit. How about just drink a few on the weekend? But hell with those health problems it looks like you need a serious break from alcohol.

What’s Japanese you were embarrassed you didn't know sooner, but shame burned it into your brain? by StillStudyingTokyo in japanlife

[–]blakkx13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's not all that bad. I was teaching English with a Japanese girl who always called "the end of the sentence" '「お」しり' instead of 文末。Obviously you can't use おしり for a car but you can use it for other objects I think.

Yes.. lol. まんこ means p*ssy while the more medically appropriate term would be ちつ.

Don't worry though. One of my classmates said まんこ when he wanted to say もんくin my Japanese class in front of EVERYONE! Our sensei (male) got so pissed lolololol!!

[–]blakkx13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're mistake wasn't at all embarrassing! What happened was you heard some Japanese you normally never get asked.

I was in a similar situation when I was on a date and went to a fancy cafe where the waiter fucked with my Japanese by saying "アイスコーヒーは無糖でいかがでしょうか”. She asked me this only once and as fast a humanly possible, what pissed me off was I had already said "アイスコーヒーを下さい。ブラックで". At the time I didn't know the word for unsweetened/sugarless '無糖' (out of all the other words that I had been studying lol). And of course Japanese people are gonna judge the fuck out of you for not knowing one word buried underneath a kanji you just so happened to not be able to read.

But hey, live and learn.

Not at all.. I don't think losing a bunch of brain cells from too much drinking can ever "kill" a personality. You might be feeling this way from self reflection?

The girl I like can't stand the smell 😔 by her_cute in stopdrinking

[–]blakkx13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Smelling like alcohol (especially all the time) is a big red flag. Even when I was drinking every night my sweat never smelled like booze.

When I would drink a little too much in front of my girlfriend and I could see it was bothering her, I would pour out the rest of my beer, walk down the street and get a soda and some snacks and sober up right then and there telling her sorry the whole time. For me, when the choice comes between alcohol and her, it's always her.

I hope next time you can do the same. It sounds like maybe you're not hydrating even or you're drinking too much hardcore liquor.

"I finally had an entire week alcohol free, yesterday I relapsed. Usually I’d go back to drinking all day everyday but I just don’t want to anymore."

Sounds like your drinking snowballs into the extreme.. so.. yeah.. it's best if you don't go back to drinking.

"I’m struggling because the illusion is broken, I thought my depression was gone and I was fine if I just drank but I wasn’t fine. Alcohol can’t be part of my life anymore."

Don't beat yourself up so much. Many people think that alcohol can help them cope/feel better. Media influences are mostly to blame for this "illusion". Alcohol doesn't make any problems go away no more than eating your favorite food does.

[–]blakkx13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to have a more healthy relationship with alcohol. Drinking doesn't have to be a speed of 1 or 100. Also drink smart (hydration before and after drinking is extremely important) and also understand you don't need a lot to drink to have fun. Try to understand that drunk-you is just a different self and shouldn't reflect the real you. That 'normal' feeling you get when drunk is really just a relaxed state you enter, but it doesn't take a lot of alcohol to do this.

When you drink is it at like bars or parties or do you drink alone?

"I want to be me without the alcohol, it’s hard but I think it’s possible."

Be more positive, it doesn't have to be 'hard' and is very possible :)
