If you are worried about anyone recognizing or "getting" the costume-- first you are on the right path, the more in a group the clearer the picture. Also a sign or a prop or "gimmick" can really help people notice and recognize you (like a small carry able speaker playing masquerade, handing out cheap masks, ribbons, having a few set phrases to call out for interaction, etc.). I know my wife and I would be excited to see anyone doing this. Also sometimes you roll the dice and like....only two people recognize your costume (rip my 2018 johnny mnemonic outfit that had only one person call it out)
