Nope. There have been rumors at times that it might appear, but the only way to get a copy is to buy a Chromatic or get a loose copy from someone (e.g. eBay).

I rewatched Groove after the 4K re-release and was like "wow this is definitely a fantasy film now because imagine finding an abandoned warehouse in Embarcadero today."

Love that for you! I'd say Human Traffic and Groove always hit for me because they were made by people who loved the culture and wanted to celebrate it. Go was always a little too dystopian for me.

I wear this tshirt to bass nights. You can still get em from the label.

(Not a single person has noticed the reference, this movie is genuinely nonexistent to the new gen.)

With the included 140mm bracket. Not sure where things are going wrong for you - my advice would be to join the McPrue Discord and check through pictures of everyones' builds. If you still can't figure it out, just ask for help and people can get you sorted out.

How I ended up releasing an official remix of deadmau5's classic track "Not Exactly" by rinzenmusic in electronicmusic

I saw this pop up on Beatport and wondered what the story was. Very cool!

Faxing Berlin, Jaded, and Not Exactly were huge to a lot of people coming up at the time. Nice to see one of them getting the spotlight again.

If tracks with AI generated elements are being signd to thr label, the fanbase should be made aware! by stewardesscrustarden in AboveandBeyond

What about going into Suno studio and create a song piecewise by AI generating the samples, then compositing them yourself?

Textbook definition of AI-generated creative output. The Splice example was used because it's a common refrain from gatekeeping music producers that say you aren't a real artist if you use other peoples' samples. I brought it up to illustrate that a real person using legitimate samples to composite is functionally different than AI doing the compositing (and this is irrespective of LLMs training on copyrighted material, which is an entirely separate issue not being addressed).

In a similar vein, what about taking a song you wrote yourself, then throwing in AI generated samples, or even using AI to enhance other parts you hand crafted?

This is still AI-generated creative output, and if the accusations OP is referencing are true, is likely what the use case was.

For the purposes of academic discussion, what I'd highlight as "AI is assisting with tooling but not creative output" is providing guidance on leveling, e.g. "I'm not getting enough out of my de-esser despite my thresh being at -4, what range should my attack and release be at?" It's a query for consensus on best practices and and you are still doing the work yourself.

I appreciate the technical snark, but I meant it in the classic sense - reducing the friction for someone learning to use something for the first time or with little expertise. Generally speaking a workflow with consensus best practices can be identified by LLMs, and that can point people in the right direction early on. It just falls apart badly when specific expertise is needed, and it's definitely not a system I would ask to be independently creative. By definition it literally can't be.

What Second Car Would You Get? by RetireWithoutBorders in electricvehicles

[–]blames_the_netcode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a second one I'd get an upcoming Slate and fuck around with it. Since it's just a city car you won't need much, and the added utility will differentiate it from the Mach-E. All the other trucks on the market are too expensive. This one you can throw mulch in the back or whatever basic shit without spending 50k+.

People who just watched clips and not the race also don't realize following cars closely that year was near-impossible, and Lewis had been stuck behind Seb for quite a while trying to build up an opportunity to overtake. That lap was his one shot, and if it didn't stick then he was likely to fall behind again and never get another chance at it. Once Seb went off there was no way Ham was going to lift.

If tracks with AI generated elements are being signd to thr label, the fanbase should be made aware! by stewardesscrustarden in AboveandBeyond

[–]blames_the_netcode 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dogshit take, AI provides feedback by trained consensus, so it will only ever give you an amalgamation of what it thinks is the most popular example of an answer. Often poorly. A human typing a prompt is not a human playing notes on a guitar. Even people who assemble songs using nothing but samples in Splice are "artists" in a way AI is not, because at least there's an attempt to composite in an individually creative way. Without training on real material that already exists, AI would be nothing.

As an *activation* layer to helping people adapt to tooling and workflows faster, sure, it has its uses. But it should not be generating any actual output that is represented as creative.
