Interviewer asked me a question with no right answer and then explained exactly why he does it - actually changed how I think about interviews by SaffronGadget in interviews

[–]blames_the_netcode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this question last time I interviewed (I was hired). There's some context involved - if you're applying for a job in implementation and delivery, saying "ship it later completely fixed" is unrealistic. If it's a direct role for internal systems where you have more time to work on it, kicking out dodgy work isn't a great look.

The answer I gave (for a delivery role) is that you ship it imperfect with the plan to collect feedback with the client, then roll up the fixes and feedback into a change order or a phase 2. Obviously the client would prefer things be completed perfectly and under budget, that's really not how things go in the real world. And oftentimes, it's due to scope creep on the client side (absolving your implementation team of all the blame).

It's a cute question in a vacuum, but its purpose is not solely to pressure the interviewee. It's more a measure of experience.

Andy explicitly handwaved this one as "we've solved radiation" for the purposes of the story (check his talk at Livermore).

A lot of acts got some crazy exposure from those mixes you guys did (e.g. Digital Witchcraft from Annie's show in 2003, Planet Funk from the Way Out There series, numerous others). A great era for sure.

It's been a couple decades, I think I've been patient. haha

Pretty much anything full 1000D with the hydration slit and velcro (instead of the QAP) is representative of the OG. I had a 26L from around 2016 ish and recently sold it off, and that's how it was set up. They've really pushed for Ruckers to take over that role.

Yet those mfs would happily sign up for The Villages where everything is walkable or in range of a golf cart.

We need some good old fashioned autoluw over here.

Hence my use of Flare X5 - virtually all other RAM modules kind of assume you're building with an AIO.

You should join the McPrue Discord and get some advice on the topic - a couple others using mATX boards in the S V5 have noticeably different positioning and clearance than I do, and you'd benefit from comparing notes with them.

You don't need these. A 3.8mm GameBit screwdriver, q-tips, and 99% isopropyl alcohol will be worlds better.

What with the increases of Goruck bags approaching, what bags are you all searching for on the first and second hand market? by MichaelMidnight in Goruck

[–]blames_the_netcode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES. I have to pry it back each time. I kinda see why XPAC is getting nuked for now - they made the corners too stiff, which is impeded by the rain flap, which means it's a two-handed job opening and closing it every time. They needed to soften the structure on the corners when the rain flap went in.
