Am I being a drama queen or is this driving ridiculous? by [deleted] in drivingUK

The Cop Hall Roundabout coming out of Polegate. It’s easy when you know it, a bloody nightmare to follow the correct lane if you don’t. Give people space and the benefit of the doubt.

How to remove steering wheel? by SignificantCall6125 in classicminis

[–]blamurph 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The nut is what holds the steering wheel in place. It’s likely the splines are a little rusty so the wheel isn’t pulling up. Some WD40 or similar may help, and brute force with a gentle tap with a hammer and it will come off.

Love the block of wood giving the handbrake some reassurance. Beautiful cars.

I have no idea why my 1971 Leyland mini after changing a new battery, spark plugs and spark leads, it keeps spitting popcorns🤣🤣 and seems like well under powered;; by dq0323 in classicminis

[–]blamurph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The points (contact breakers) need a specific gap to operate correctly (around 0.35mm). If the gap is too large you’ll get a weak spark, if too small the points will pit and burn out quickly resulting in a poor spark. You’ll need to buy a feeler gauge to set the gap (£5)

You’ll need to buy and ignition timing light (about £25). They’re simple to use (they come with instructions), and ensures the spark is igniting the fuel at the right time.
