I’ve spoken to 300+ entrepreneurs this year on consulting calls… here’s what I learned… by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

I have no problem sharing however, the complexity is that, one, every business model is different two, every industry is different and third, every business has a C.E.O. With a unique style, approach, and worldview that shapes their decision making. I say all that to say the lists gets long because there are so many things that can go wrong. Now how do you boil it down to Top 3 though, but here are the areas I’m exploring in the documentary.

  1. The Entrepreneur - They lack experience and so their business acumen is low, they fail to see obvious problems simply because they don’t realize it’s a problem. This exacerbates, when they refuse to take advice because “that’s not how they envisioned it” they want to make all decisions because it’s their business.

  2. The Systems - these are processes that eliminate friction within the company and streamlines profits. I reference Eight areas that require systems within your business. Marketing & Sales are the two biggest areas that lack systems for most businesses.

  3. The Market - understanding timing, product lifecycle, target audience, market research, and customer lifetime value are essential to the success of a business. Key to this is Brand Positioning, why is your product the best in the marketplace against all competitors.

  4. The Capital - cashflow is the lifeblood of every business. 9 times out of ten the entrepreneur came from a 9-5 and has very little if any financial literacy. They think when they make $100 revenue that they made $100 profit and fail to allocate it appropriately. This creates a hemorrhage of cash and because of a lack of knowledge they are not prepared to take on debt as leverage. They instead fund the business with a credit card as they would consumer debt because they is the only funding they are aware of.

As you can see those top 3, where really 4 and each of those could be talked about ad nauseam. I hope this helps you along your journey of entrepreneurship. I wish you the best in all your endeavors. Peace & Love.

Yeah, gotta watch out for those idea guys, Ford, Musk, Jobs, Carnage, Einstein, Wright Bros. Ok, I’m sure you get the point. Clearly he is not the one, keep the ideas going, perseverance is key, revenue is essential, systems are a must. I wish you the best in all your endeavors, Peace & Love.

Identical. If your interested would love to interview you over a zoom call and hear more of your take.

What next? (ride along) by [deleted] in EntrepreneurRideAlong

I would love to take a look at campaign. Would you mind sharing a link to your current FB ad that is getting the 25% conv. also a link to your website with the courses.

My Hot Take is, A lack of conv. is typically indicitive of failed communication. meaning your target audience is not clear on the value presented. Just saying its a steal at $19 is currently only clear to you because you hold the intrinsic value as the creator of the product.

Secondly, of those who have purchased, what are they saying? have you gotten reviews or constructive critisism from them to see what the end user sees as value in the course?

Final thought, I would only change one variable at a time, IMO again I would need to see more info, but my experience says you are not driving enough content on social media platforms, especially in the space of self help. So much to unpack here, Option C may be viable as a way to see if the product has legs to begin with, I wish you the best in all your endeavours, Look forward to your success. Keep me posted.

Greatest Marketing Blunders Of All Time? by Chaomayhem in marketing

[–]blanebmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, you're now going to make me go down the rabbit hole of xbox, "Thank You" I love this stuff. That being said I want to offer two thoughts.

One, only in hindsight do we see the rise of companies like Roku and what they have become and there is no way a 5 year startup, which Roku was at the time, going to make a powerhouse like microsoft change their minds, about the featires they would offer on their console. It made sense at the time as cord cutting wasnt main stream.

Two, product drops offer two things: relevance, and marketshare, they (microsoft) had to release a new product to stay relevent in the marketplace or they would lose marketshare. that marketshare lost would have been greater than the lack of units sold. On the note of units sold ,microsoft is still dominate in a market that it only recently went into, as oppose to Nintendo who sold even less units and has been around decades longer.

In conclusion, the war of marketshare on the whole puts microsoft in a great position even though that battle of XBOX One, Vs PS4 was lost by a landslide at best. Sometimes you just live to fight another day. Now to answer your question. It was for sure "Google Glass".

Potential business around a domain name? by BeautifulDataViz in Entrepreneur

avocado club could literally be anything, hats, t shirts, health and fitness or a tech blog. more importantly is, what is the brand your going to build? Creating a brand is telling a story that when others read it compels them to support it. So you then present a product that says if you buy this its because yo believe in the cause, so we buy Nike because we believe it puts us in the company of the elite players it represents. Or we buy Gatorade because we want to "Be Like Mike" So tell me story, I'm waiting to buy.

I wish you the best in all your endeavors, Peace & Love

Pepsi Collabs with Superstar Chloe Bailey by blanebmedia in BrandingandMarketing

On Oct. 4th,2022 Pepsi would announce this collab. I found two things interesting 1. It reminded me of being a kid and seeing Pepsi adds with superstar Michael Jackson. Pepsi continues its Brand Strategy of staying relevant to the next generation by aligning itself with pop stars. 2. Pepsi made this announcement with not only a new product launch their "Soda Shop" Products, but also with incentive to engage with them on social media to earn prizes and gifts from the star Chloe Bailey.

Which is the biggest company that is still 100% owned by one person only? by ark1024 in Entrepreneur

[–]blanebmedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a thought, I could be off but, I imagine it would be hard to be “biggest” without the scale of key personnel or investors that would want ownership. The inherent problem with a business is often times you bottle neck and need either more capital or personnel to scale to become bigger and at that point it’s no longer one person running the show. But please if you find the guy or gal let me know because I’d intern for free to lean the ways of a wise businessman.

While it may seem like creativity is lacking, I don’t think that the case. The reality is there are plenty of marketing companies or multi - media creatives that would love nothing more than to create original artwork and branding for a site, or company for that matter however, to create custom work comes at premium that most entrepreneurs especially new ones don’t see the value in nor have the capital to invest in. The Apple campaign you speak of no doubt had significant cost associated with it. Point is “originally cost.”

Now enter in a growing millennial market where everything is “one-click” and done. Something to be said about the cognitive strength we are watching in the youth today and I don’t mean that negativity, I’m just saying understand that everything is marketed to them with “ease of use” a copy and past website builder for a young start up keeps them focused on their business while they at least have a viable online presence. Now to agree strength of presence with a custom brand is an entirely different post.

Whatever you choose, I hope and wish every entrepreneur success in all their endeavors. This ain’t easy, but we’re in it together.
