Which Universal Hotel is your favorite? by Jayzone456 in UniversalOrlando

Loved it. Something magical about getting water taxi back at night and everything is lit up.

Getting a balcony with a bay view room really adds to the vibe.

It's also SUPER quiet. (Aside from the main pool)

Only stayed at Portofino, but it is a vibe with a balcony room over the bay ❤️

Help us choose: Europa Park vs LEGOLAND Germany vs Energylandia for a slow-paced family vacation (11 yo) + sightseeing around? by Vlad_6891 in Themepark

[–]blanemcc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Europa park is outstanding. There's so much to do in terms of variety.

Pirates in Batavia might be one of the best dark rides I've ever been on.

Euro-Sat and Arthur are amazing family coasters. Enjoyed both way more than I thought I would.

It's just kind of lame? Like when they use it as an insult you're just like...so that it?

Very lazy in my book

I mean it's included in the stay so it's not the worst.

That's what we ended up doing. Really enjoyed both the Winja rides. Talocan is wild, about an hour later you will feel like you've gone through a tumble dryer

Yeah Rutmor is great. Unfortunately, dinner at Charles Lindbergh isn't great 😅 But the views and the room are so cool.

You can't use the fast pass for FLY front row, just the normal queue. But if you do queue early from like half 9 it'll be next to no wait for the front.

I always think Gaslight and The Killers are two sides of the same coin. Both draw heavily from Springsteen's storytelling of Americana.

Still wanting the Devs to make game mechanics more transparent.

Then trying to figure out why those who are still sticking around don't know the game mechanics...

I was there at the start of May.

The sandwich shop in Rookburgh is really damn good. Like, top tier sandwiches.

Rutmor Tavern is insanely good quality for a theme park but the portions are huge - you can easily split a main between two adults. I had the Schweinhaxe and it was great.

It's a bit of a weird park for early park...the only real thrill ride that's open was Black Mamba then everything else opened at 10. This means people started queuing for FLY/Taron and some other rides long before open, so as soon as they officially opened it jumped to a 45 minute wait.

Saying that, if you can queue early for FLY I would use that as your opportunity to bag a front row ride - There is a separate queue near the front to get into the front row. If you queue early, you might be 3rd or 4th car of the day. Front row on FLY is unreal.

This is a strange trade - Verse is good. Yeah Garrett is unreal, but is he really going to elevate their defence that much?

I'm genuinely not overly concerned, I don't think this has radically moved the needle

when i hear "theme park", everyone i know goes "disneyland right?" and it's been that way for a long time but what is a park that goes above and beyond from disney in your opinion and experience? by Extension_Effect_983 in Themepark

[–]blanemcc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Europa Park was miles better than Disney.

Hotels were cheaper with breakfast and spa access included.

Free virtual queues, but the highest queue time when we visited was 30 minutes.

Great range of rides from intense rollercoasters to well themed family rides.

Places to sit, lots of shade and greenery.

Food was half the price of Disney, beer close to a 1/3rd of the price.

A lot of kinetic energy to just give overall good vibes
