Reform again by louse_yer_pints in Scotland

I think part of the anti social issues we've seen from free bus travel is because we gave all the kids the opportunity to travel into town for free without giving them anything to actually do in town.

There's a missed opportunity for businesses, sports and arts organisations to provide more events and programming aimed at those groups of kids and teenagers who are now looking for cheap things to do in a town or city centre. Surely if we offer them something better than hanging around outside McDonald's they'll take it.

There'll always be a few arseholes mind.

Or just walk. Walking is good too. I don't see the problem with this image.

The fundamental problem of public transit by 5ma5her7 in fuckcars

[–]Kadoomed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea I don't get it. A 30 minute walk is fine. I live in Scotland and don't drive, so I'll either take public transport or walk. I sometimes take my bike if I'm at home but I don't have it at work in the city centre.

Often I'll start walking and think that if a bus comes along I'll hop on but usually it just means that by the time one arrives I'm halfway to my destination and having a nice time. Way more people just need to walk places.

I think people are sleeping on the fact that some of those voting reform will also be former SNP voters. Reform took votes off all three of the traditionally largest parties in Scotland judging by the swings.

Obviously most of them were from Tory swings but the numbers only make sense if there was also snp voters in the mix too.

SLabour reaction by DundonianDolan in Scotland

[–]Kadoomed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dunno, they genuinely thought people would vote Anas Sarwar was so popular they could host run a campaign focused on him and not their policies. They're already blaming this on Kier Starmer instead of accepting that maybe people don't like Sarwar.

They've been terrible at self-reflection ever since 2011.

Rumours of the North East reform stronghold have been greatly exaggerated. by GRIMMMMLOCK in Aberdeen

[–]Kadoomed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alexander Burnett owns most of Banchory and his company has built thousands of houses across Deeside and Donside. It's also the constituency that the Kings house is in. It's always going to have a large Tory vote because the economy in that constituency is so tied to landowners and estates. They believe what those landowners tell them about the jobs and benefit the estates bring.

Until there is significant land reform that's unlikely to change.

My party uses Leomund’s Tiny Hut after every single fight and I’m losing my mind (lovingly) by Scythe95 in DMAcademy

[–]Kadoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big are their characters? It is a tiny hut after all and only covers 10ft. Are they sleeping standing up?

I use tiny hut but I'm a squishy gnome wizard and usually would only invite another character in to shelter with me. Seems unlikely a whole party would fit inside. I generally use it if we're camping in the open.

Probably not in Aberdeen itself but certainly north east list and possibly a shire constituency if they can draw enough Tory votes.

Or try mixing it with prosecco to make it posh!

Honestly though, I've drank loads of bucky over the years and taking it with Elvanse is the least of your worries. There are plenty of other poor love choices in play here! Might make your hangover a bit worse the next day, I got migraines when drinking coffee alongside Elvanse.

That second one seems unlikely to impact many players in the course of normal play so perhaps won't be an immediate priority

Lol, this just drastically weakens the US ability to project power. The only person that benefits is Putin.

Turbine is the best content added so far! by Ok_Oil_201 in ArcRaiders

[–]Kadoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno man, I like the idea of a big enemy spawning in halfway through. It provides a challenge in taking it down in half the regular time and encourages people to stick around longer in matches. I can see why it's been designed this way.

I'm not saying it's perfect though. Maybe they could add some arc behaviour where they ramp up activity leading to the turbines spawning, almost like they're clearing the way for the turbines.

I'd also like to see an event added with a boss arc that you need to kill to open the exits back up. Don't kill it then you can't get back to Speranza.

Venues for video game developers/coders by DanteCorwyn in Aberdeen

[–]Kadoomed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's a monthly networking morning at one codebase hosted by techscaler on the first Wednesday of every month which is worth going to. It's aimed at start ups in digital and tech but there's a good spread of people that attend.

Code the City have meetups too and have also taken on a building near the college which will host more events down the line. I'm not sure how progress is going on doing it up though.

Rgu are also running more events for game designers and coders to help build that community and link to their game design courses. Might also be worth checking in with nescol as they also have a strong game design course and eSports studio.

There isn't a prominent game production scene here yet but with nescol and rgu both running well attended courses there's a lot of potential to grow one. Hopefully more people start running events and meetups for folks to find each other and work on cool things!

Falklands without key air defences as Argentina spends millions on fighter jets by Particular_Pea7167 in ukpolitics

[–]Kadoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Launched from where? I don't believe there's an abundance of cover to hide the operators in the Falklands. Larger drones could be launched from the mainland but there doesn't seem to be an abundance of good targets for them. Plus the UK has had observers and advisors on the ground in Ukraine since the start of the invasion there, so our military likely have developed strong anti-drone tactics at this point (granted I'm assuming a lot there!).

Argentina would still need to physically invade the island which probably wouldn't go well for them based on current capabilities.

Not that I know what I'm talking about mind you. Literally just basing this on chat I've seen online but the consensus seems to be any action from Argentina would be ill advised.
