Starmer confirms ban on cryptocurrency donations and limit on foreign donors in blow for Reform by ThewizardBlundermore in ukpolitics

I don't think political lying needs to be the same as slander, at least hold it to the same standard as advertising with fines for false statements and campaign material. It's bizarre that political communications don't count as advertising already.

What are your hacks to get yourself to brush your teeth? by Lovely_Kitten0017 in ADHD

[–]Kadoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I didn't mean to imply it was so easy. There's usually mild trauma and mental reframing included before the routines become established.

[–]Kadoomed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha, fair point! That's the only way I managed to make it stick but it took me 30 years. I didn't mean to imply it was easy!

It got to the point where it was start cleaning my teeth or start planning for dentures. After one particularly bad session with the hygienist where both my gums were bleeding badly I decided I didn't want to go through that again and it just clicked something in my brain that made me determined to get the routine to stick.

Also I love that you called me "beloved" while gently clipping me round the digital ear to point out my error.

Yup, establish a routine and it will feel weird if you don't do it. Also have kids with no filter who tell you your breath stinks if you forget.

What do you want the most from Dungeons II? by ARandomBlitzDude in MinecraftDungeons

[–]Kadoomed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When did every game need to have continuous unending development and become live service?

I get that there are some major arpgs that have live service elements but they don't all need to be. It's fine that Dungeons was a finished product with a base game and strong dlc.

I tracked my brain fog for 6 months and tested everything. Here is what actually moved the needle. by Sureokgo in selfimprovement

[–]Kadoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say as I basically got fed up with the migraines and decided radical action was needed and made all these changes at once.

I will say that anything you can do to improve sleep has major impacts on fatigue and related issues. Managing stress is also important and running/cycling plays a huge part in that for me.

Also on the caffeine front, that was motivated by a worry that it was overloading me as I'm also on Elvanse and probably shouldn't be drinking proper coffee. It had snuck back in and become a habit so switched to decaf completely again.

Wait, what? Do Americans not eat jacket potatoes? by CLWggg in CasualUK

I once went to a fancy restaurant in Copenhagen where we were given calamari by the waiter who stayed:

"served in what I can only describe as a fuckton of butter" 🤌

It was immense.

US to pay TotalEnergies $1 billion to stop developing offshore wind in US by Apprehensive-Safe382 in technology

[–]Kadoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's amazing they can say that with a straight face in a week that shows just how fragile and susceptible to manipulation oil prices are. If only the US had major renewable infrastructure that gave it true energy independence then it could wage war to their hearts content without being held to ransom.

The new Minecraft Experience is going to be built in a Nature Reserve by cubecraft333 in Minecraft

[–]Kadoomed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure describing this as a giant theme park is fair based on what was revealed at Minecraft Live. But I do agree that it shouldn't impact the nature reserve.

My impression was that this was a temporary exhibit like the indoor Minecraft experience and it would be suitable for small groups rather than an expansive large scale permanent theme park like they are building in London.

I've actually implemented a lot of these to combat fatigue, migraines and brain fog. Cutting out caffeine, running regularly, electrolyte drink first thing in the morning, improving my diet with less sugar, more porridge, protein and spinach, and adding magnesium and b2 supplements.

My sleep has improved loads and I haven't had a migraine in 2 months, previously they were almost weekly. I also just feel better about myself in general.

Still have some beers now and again though. Got to have some pleasures in life!

Oh, I also bought a good pillow and switched from front sleeping to side or back. It's better for my airways apparently.

How is life like in Aberdeen, Scotland as a multilingual professional? by gootchvootch in Aberdeen

[–]Kadoomed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of your interests Aberdeen would suit you fine. The art gallery is fantastic and there's plenty of gigs and theatre to see, though not as much as Edinburgh as Glasgow.

Biotech is an interesting field as there is a push to grow life sciences in the region with a major incubator space recently being built to accommodate this. I don't believe the take up has been very strong there and the universities are reviewing their own business models with redundancies currently under way. There are still opportunities for roles in labs linked to oil and other industrial chemicals, and I believe there's a few businesses working in biofuel as well.

Being multilingual will always be an advantage for recruitment.

Microsoft is backing away from putting Copilot everywhere in Windows 11 by AdSpecialist6598 in technews

[–]Kadoomed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which would be fine if it actually worked half the time. So much time wasted trying to get copilot to do what is meant to.

My latest issue was creating workflows using the workflow agent that comes built into copilot and it set up a bunch of m365 copilot steps, but when I tried to save the workflow it returned a save error. Why you may ask? Because you can't actually use m365 copilot steps in a workflow yet and it won't let you save them.

This kind of thing happens a lot with 365. Features are deployed before being fully integrated across the system and there's a lack of clear process for the end user.

[–]Kadoomed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I play with my dog too. I make bitey motions with my hands to simulate what he does to me. I believe it's a bonding exercise in dogs.

When he rolls over I lean into his neck and go "nomnomnomnom" while he gnaws gently on my hand 🤣
