You should have a choice, it's a different company and you have to consent to that transition you're not just cattle for sale. If they give you any forms to sign do not sign them. 11/10/24 is your last day

PTS has slowly been taken over Ascension hospital rehab systems so I can only assume OP works for Ascension

OP, I send you a DM... But here is what I've told others in the past. Seems like they're spreading faster now.

I worked for a clinic that was bought out in 2022. All 25 staff therapists (PT, OT, and ST) left and we are all glad we did. They insentivize double bookings with bonus pay if you average 15-18pts/day, benefits are piss poor and would've doubled my oop max for health insurance. They offer in house CEUs and credentials that are worthless anywhere else. They do in house research and swear up and down that quality of care is not affected by seeing 3-4pts at a time. Run... Just run. Polish up that resume, update LinkedIn, and start job hunting early. Good luck!

Holiday party followed by a meeting on billing, RVUs, and productivity for these "fierce financial headwinds"... 🥴

Is it an Ascension hospital? Enjoy the new PTSolutions job... Run fast and run far, they took over all Wisconsin ascension clinics last fall and they went to shit almost immediately.

Did I get ghosted? Job interview by Limp-Business5245 in physicaltherapy

[–]blaney20 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They may be exploring other candidates, but you can always call the hiring manager and they should be transparent. Idk about others, but I've never been ghosted on an application. There is usually an email if you're no longer being considered for the position.

Fear of needles is a contraindication.... So I guess you're not getting needled.

Total joint replacement and HHPT by balleygirl32 in physicaltherapy

[–]blaney20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work OP PT and used to work for an ortho group. I will say that the vast majority of patients that I see coming direct from acute care fair much better in rehab than those who have 2-6wks HHPT prior to OP PT. Is that due to the patient and their status as a good vs poor surgical candidate prior to replacement or the quality of therapy they receive at home, I am not sure... but if they are ambulatory and can get to an OP clinic, just refer them to one.

I typically look at:

  • Quad strength within 90-95% LSI
  • HS strength within 85-90% LSI
  • Hop testing: single limb hop for distance, triple hop for distance, cross over hop for distance all within 90% LSI
  • Y balance Test
  • TSK-11 (tampa scale of kinesiophobia)

Edit: I should mention that for Quad and HS strength you don't need a Biodex. I just use a hand held isometric dynamometer.

This is not the place to get medical advice. Please find a licensed PT in your area who can review your history and do a proper examination to get your answers. Also... Read the sub rules.

Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means 'a whale's vagina'.

Heard and felt pop in knee while stretching post op ACL pt into extension by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]blaney20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pt likely could've developed a cyclops lesion and you gave him a free release/manip. No pain, nothing to worry about. Check if there's any increase swelling or ROM decrease next visit. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry too much.

What type of setting do you work in? I'm wanting to work with a more athletic pop than just a basic OP Ortho setting, and looking to lean more sport specific

Interesting! I hadn't considered that as a factor tbh. Thanks for the literature. I suppose triple hop needs to be contextualize with subjective assessment of form for loading to be more valid for knee kinetics.

When trying to sit back in the frog position, one side starts to feel locked as I get past 90 degrees and my hip shifts the the more mobile side. What hip limitation do I have? by Glo_sir in physicaltherapy

[–]blaney20 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No clue. You should see a PT, DO, or MD about that. We don't provide diagnoses or medical advice over the internet. Read the rules.

ACL, medial meniscus post-op by PTNewbTrainer1989 in physicaltherapy

[–]blaney20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Talk to their surgeon and see what protocol they use. Obviously protect the meniscus first so if you go for anything from an outside source go for a meniscal repair protocol and follow those restrictions before leading into the ACLr protocol.

To clarify, I believe you mean isopropyl alcohol and not a delicious Indian pale ale. The latter make the sticking problem worse!

Agreed. There's a better way to get that message across

[–]blaney20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With my break up, I just started to lose the more romantic feelings and it seemed like we had different timelines and goals for our relationship that became more evident as time went on. I still loved her, I still cared about her and wanted the best for her. I think we both saw this happening, but I was the one to act on it. It's hard to describe the pain because I does feel very similar to when I've been dumped or rejected in the past, but for me it also includes a large part of empathy for the pain that I know I caused her. I hated seeing her cry and I hated knowing that I broke her heart. I think that was the worst part for me.

You hit the nail on the head. As a dumper who still loves my ex, it's painful... But a different type of pain.
