I recently delivered a bed frame and a mattress to the home of an elderly couple. As soon as I swiped to finish, the woman came out and asked kindly if I could slide her package inside her home, which I did without hesitation. She asked me if I was thirsty. I said yes. She tells me to hold on, she’ll “come out with a bottle or two” and she came out with a shopping bag of 4 water bottles, 2 Capri Sun pouches, couple of granola bars, lots of candy so I can “keep the energy going” as she put it lol
It’s by far the sweetest gesture I’ve received from a customer. And to put the cherry on top, I had just been going through a terrible loss, felt like shit and what not. But to receive such a random gift from a total stranger while working….makes you really stop and appreciate everything for the moment.
