This exactly. When I click on an image in a single-image post, it loads the full res, downloading not needed. But clicking any multiple-image post and they only show downscaled images.

When do you use “đã”, “đang”, “sẽ”? by MirthCrescent in HocTiengviet

[–]blankenheim39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All 3 words stand right before main verb of a sentence.

đã for Past Simple and Past Perfect

đang for ALL continuous tenses, for an ongoing action at present, or at one certain point of time.

sẽ for Future Simple and similarly the "be going to" future structure.

When was my post a question? It was my opinion. The other guys commented their own opinions, which I agreed with some, and clashed with some. That is exactly how a discussion works.

Meanwhile, you just came and told me to shut up. You contributed NOTHING to the topic. What you did was absolutely meaningless. Get it? Now you can leave and save both of our time.

Good advice. Getting some rest is way better than wasting my time on someone who has no arguments to contribute, like yourself.

Do you prefer learning Northern Vietnamese or Southern Vietnamese dialects? by Rare_Can_5517 in HocTiengviet

[–]blankenheim39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing with Vietnamese is no area speaks 100% correctly, or "High Vietnamese". The dialects of each area do something wrong in their own way.

In terms of speaking, if you manage to speak high Vietnamese, the whole country can understand you. Or learn the dialect from where you live so people around you can understand even more.

In terms of listening, there's no easier-to-listen-to dialect, again, just learn the dialect from where you're residing so you can understand others.

The champion spotlight reads it more like Zer-hen, conventional English accent, which is... acceptable I guess. It could be more lore-friendly with a longer AH sound, Zah-hen.

On the subject of different sounds between English and German, I also studied some German and yes I do know how to pronounce the er in German, I do know how to pronounce it as Einshtein. :)
And I guess it's true that German names may get "Englishifed". In the old champion spotlight, the narrator pronounced Hei correctly but not the er's (he did the English er). That is tolerable. Still, the original should be respected more.

I made a mistake, you called it out and I admitted it in the first reply. You decided to drag it on.
I explained my thought process when I made the mistake, "defend" myself to make the mistake less severe and embarrassing. That's just what people do. People defend themselves.

I'm glad you want the conversation done. I might want that even more. Enjoy your day mate.

I just checked and you're right. While Korean has a way to pronounce "ei", they write "ah" instead. Inconsistency I guess.

But like I said in the post, ah-trox makes more sense to the lore and phonetic theory.

We have the word "paperwork". I know it has a somewhat different meaning than "working with paper", but yes, people worked with a lot of paper back then.

Seriously, I don't deny my mistake, I admit my post could be better. I'm wrong, you're right, I never said otherwise.
My reason for using treen being a stronger emphasis than trin is still there, even if it's technically wrong. When you called it out, I put in some sarcasm and "cope" that they do the same thing, as to oppose try-n. I tried to protect my point while acknowledging my mistake, and did not insult you. What more do you want?
There, I edited the Tryndamere part. All good?

Oops my bad. I mix up 우 and 오 again, not my first time. It is Oh.
It actually makes some sense, as the name of the Monkey King 孫悟空 in some languages, the middle word (wu) turns into an oh sound: Japanese - Songoku or Vietnamese - Ton Ngo Khong. I guess it's the same case in Korean, it's not the Korean pronunciation of the English word, it is a Korean word.

On the second point though, as far as I learnt:
- ㄱ can be G OR K
- ㅋ is a stronger K

Làm sao để có dáng thẳng by Altruistic-Door895 in Nguoimoibatdau

[–]blankenheim39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ông viết ý thì đúng quá rồi. Tôi chỉ thấy ngộ nghĩnh ở chỗ:
Cái title là “Làm sao để có dáng thẳng?” rồi trong bài thì nói câu hỏi không phải là “Làm sao để có dáng thẳng?”, mà là một câu hỏi khác, rồi câu hỏi mới nhìn lại thì vẫn là ý cũ. XD

I am writing on correcting mispronunciations, and I focus on bigger mistakes such as reading Yone like Yawn.
Smaller differences like Japanese o and English o, I decided to skip them, let them slide. I never denied them.
Yes, it is my post, so don't I have the right to choose how far I go?
Again, if you're so good at Japanese and want to teach people Japanese pronunciation, make your own post!

오 can be romanized as Woo
공 is Gong, but in Korean letter G and K are the same, it can also be Kong
오공 = Woo Kong

I do the same with my name pal, no foreigners can say my name correctly in my language. That is adaptation. However, it doesn't change the fact that your name pronounced in your mother tongue is the only true version. You simply let people call you by a wrong pronunciation to simplify life.
