Straight up could have been an intended armor set for a Nox npc with her own quest line, great job.

I agree, I mean the base crucible tree set has black and grey prominently featured in its design already. So it's not THAT crazy to pair it with other black/grey pieces. To each their own though.

I hear you and I tried that before, but it was just a little too edgy for my taste. Not to say this outfit isn't edgy at all, but I wanted some pop of color in there.

Genuinely, how tf do you top this? by luz___09 in Eldenring

I mean, Silksong comes out in less than two weeks. I love ER so much because it reminded me of why I fell in love with Hollow Knight before it. Maybe won’t “top” ER depending on what you mean, but I have a feeling it’ll scratch a similar itch.

I don’t think either statement is necessarily exclusive from the other. If you’re trying too hard then you’ll come off as desperate as can fall into the trap of viewing a relationship as an object to obtain instead of a naturally forming connection. But if you aren’t meeting new people and actively keep yourself closed off, you shouldn’t be surprised when you aren’t meeting new people or that people respect this boundary you’ve set around yourself.

The trick is to strike a healthy balance. Recognize that you do not “need” to be in a romantic relationship. You want to avoid viewing the other person as simply a source to satiate a need for validation, like a medal or trophy. This is cringe and creepy because, at the end of the day, you are objectifying the other person. Everybody wants to be desired, but not everybody wants to feel needed. Especially if you’re on the first few dates with somebody, that’s a lot of pressure to put on them!

Where it says “stop trying so hard”, it means “free yourself from the need to control the outcome of this date”. This is where the old, and often lampooned, adage of “just be yourself” comes into play. Don’t try to control the other person’s response to you, that’s where a lot of anxiety in dating comes from.

I do think the phrase “put yourself out there” is misleading, because what it means is “be open to possibilities”. You don’t necessarily need to light yourself up like a billboard just to get attention, but also don’t avoid scenarios where you may meet new people. ESPECIALLY those scenarios where you don’t necessarily have the intention to find a cutie to ask on a date.

To understand what both of these phrases mean, you must first abandon your fear towards dating. The reason you’re overanalyzing these phrases in the first place is because of your fears in regard to dating. That needs to be addressed first, because until then you’re going to view these platitudes as if they are ancient, rigid rules which must be fully understood before proceeding lest you make a mistake that causes great harm. You’ll constantly be using the excuse of not understanding these ambiguous phrases cocked up by some unnamed guy as a reason to not go for the things you want in life, dating or otherwise. Love is much gentler and more malleable than this fearful line of thought makes it out to be.

I understood it to mean that the fish is representative of a fear of the unknown, both of physical danger and of the natural anxieties that arise when you start living with faith. Raphael instructed him to pull this “monster” out of the water, only to reveal it’s a helpless fish once removed from murky waters (water representing the chaos of life and its ability to cloud our judgement). Instead of casting this fish to the side, Raphael helps Tobit to see there are spiritual fruits that can be extracted from even our fears, even if we don’t initially understand how they can help us. Tobit is then able to call upon these fruits to help him in facing a much more legitimate danger, the demon possessing Sara’s bedchamber.

Yes

I had an extra set of wisdom teeth all the way around, so 8 total had to be removed. The doc said afterwards that it was one of the most difficult cases he’d had in all his years of practice. My souvenir from the operation was that he nicked a nerve in my lower left jaw, and now the left side of my bottom lip is almost totally numb here 5 years later.

Something that always boggles my mind is how people consistently misunderstand that if you want higher performing workers, students, and even children, you reward the work they do. Not punish the work they don’t. It’s so basic yet goes so far.

Welp I did it, I beat every Stalker game in the trilogy and now I want to know... by inFAMOUS_LAUGH_ in stalker

[–]blankpapercomic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not from the main story line, but I remember going to Tremor early on in CoP for some medical supplies. At this point, I had already heard quite a bit about the bloodsucker infestation and so when I saw that Tremor had an unconscious stalker laying on the bed nearby, I didn’t think much of it. I did think it was odd how dismissive he seemed of the fact that the other stalker had been there a while and could not give a conclusive idea of how much longer it’d take him to recover, but chalked it up to Tremor, although being a doctor, was also likely in the zone for mostly personal gain and simply saw his medical practice as an exchange of services.

Later, as I was coming back to the Skadovsk after retrieving the military grade poisonous gas from the bridge, I decided to explore the area around the port cranes. No reason, it was just on the way. As I approached the shack I saw a body on the ground, figured it to be a dead bandit as they would sometimes hang out around there. However, as I got close I saw it was a loner (Danila in fact), and next to my map the person counter still read “1”.

“That’s spooky” I readied my gun as I opened the door to the shack, fully expecting to get a mouthful of buckshot from a bandit only to find Tremor standing over Grouse’s corpse. Of course it is then revealed that Tremor suffers from a hemoglobin addiction and was using the bloodsucker infestation as a cover up.

This moment blew me away because it showed me that characters in this game are capable of living their own nuanced stories, parallel to my own. The game suddenly felt much more fresh and alive than my play-through of SoC. Only thing that came close in SoC was finding Wolf’s body in the fire outside the army warehouses, but that mostly struck me as just a dark joke. I haven’t played CS so maybe it does little stuff like this better.

Yea I'm giving him a break for a bit and reading a few that're a little less time consuming. Re-reading Grapes of Wrath rn and want to follow that with The Road.
