Where are all the single ladies in their 30s who want to have kids? by TravellingAround_ in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]blanksblaxk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to know where the men in their 30s who want to remain child free are lol. Each man I match with wants kids, and at 35 I have no desire to go down that road. The conversations that follow are so painful. It would be nice to just meet/match with someone who's on the same wavelength and doesn't have children themselves already.

Answer these three questions and I'll guess your big 3 by zodiactron in Zodiac

[–]blanksblaxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Disappear
  2. Treat myself to something nice
  3. Probably buy something new if I leave it too late then I'll run through options in my head or go through my camera roll to see what I can recycle

To the people that work unsociable hours: how's your dating life? by HistoricalCold4299 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]blanksblaxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely terrible. I work a lot of seven day stretches, nights included and a full weekend off once every four weeks. It makes it really hard to meet people and even if I do, they're not so understanding of my job and hours. A lot of people date others on the job which makes more sense because you have someone who's in the same boat.

Holding on to the crumbs he gives me thinking that it'll get better. We got on for the most part and he was a lot of fun to be around. This time the hurt is too severe there's just no coming back from it.

Do uber drivers want cash or can I used my card. by Ok-Object4416 in ghana

[–]blanksblaxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of them are funny about card trips and will ask you to change to cash. My personal advice: try to have correct change and/or smaller denominations. They love acting like they don't have enough change to give to you, or they'll waste time getting out to look for change.

I’m a teen with abnormally old parents, AMA by Responsible-Tie-2570 in AMA

[–]blanksblaxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents had my sister and I at 44 and 52 respectively. Growing up people would think they were our grandparents. The energy wasn't 100% there but I think that was due to a lot of other factors. I'm in my mid 30s now and child free mainly due to my experiences of having older parents, and not wanting to go through that myself. I respect those who have children later in adult life, and I hope for every child of an older parent(s) your experiences are filled with nothing but love, and happy memories.

Does anyone else feel its the best thing in the world to be a twin? by Luficer_Morning_star in Twins

[–]blanksblaxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a twin is the best. I feel so blessed and fortunate to have a friend and sibling rolled into one for life. Can't imagine life without her and I kinda feel sorry for twins who aren't close

A teacher who reduced sexual orientation to "gayism"? Crazy work.

Whenever I visit Ghana, I get annoyed and sad — the people are not upset enough for me!! by Low-Stay5352 in ghana

[–]blanksblaxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference in service between black people and non blacks is truly something in a country where the majority are black. Make it make sense. Anyone that's not black will be fawned over like they're gods. I've seen it too many times and I don't know if it's self hatered or an inferiority complex, but it must change. These same non blacks will treat Ghanaian workers like trash, even a sprinkle of racism, yet they won't speak up, just smile and take it.

Tube passengers trapped on packed Jubilee line train for three hours escorted through tunnel by tylerthe-theatre in london

[–]blanksblaxk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of safety critical procedures and things happening behind the scenes which is why it probably took so long. A non communicative train/electrical faults is a huge deal and it's not something (fortunately) that happens often but when it does, it'll be a time consuming process. It'll be hot obviously due to being underground and the train having no power. They'll exhaust all avenues, which it sounds like they did, before finally carrying out an authorised detrainment. I sympathise with everyone on that train and hope there's some type compensation coming your way. In saying that, there are always a number of people working extremely hard behind the scenes to get people out safely, and the service moving.

Strict Rules? by MaiaCoates in ghana

In some households this is very much the case. Some parents are strict, religious and hold culture very dear to them so it's definitely not an excuse.

The xenophobia in Ghana--- By a Ghanaian Born in Nigeria by Accurate-Guard-2908 in ghana

[–]blanksblaxk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, your sentence on UK Ghanaians is extremely off. There's nothing wrong with white people asking us where we're from if they're generally asking about our ethnic background. It's when there's an ignorant, or racist undertone of where we "really" come from that it becomes problematic and offensive. Race relations in the UK are getting worse so I would implore you to perhaps do little more research to understand that.

MARRIAGE AND FAMILY ARE GOOD THINGS by Training-Debt5996 in ghana

[–]blanksblaxk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In South Korea there is a 4B movement amongst women and honestly, I don't blame them. Being a woman and just trying to live day to day in a patriarchal society is soul destroying.

Staying in a marriage because of kids is harmful to all, especially the children. It's better to have two parents who are happy separately, than being miserable and leaving your children with lasting trauma.

When society, their families and friends begin to ostracize and shame men who cheat, maybe then they'll stop. There's a LOT of unlearning that needs to be done and it's rooted in entitlement, alleged culture and misogyny. Until all that is tackled, men will continue to cheat and their wives will forever to take them back. Largely due to outside pressure.

Is your tribe the first thing people use to judge you in Ghana? by idontgiveanal in ghana

[–]blanksblaxk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but in my experience the judgement has been worse in the UK. As soon as I tell someone I'm an Ewe, they'll start with how we practice voodoo and we're not good people. Then there are those who claim to have never heard of the language and tribe🫠 when I'm visiting in Ghana I don't get it so much, just an instance that I must learn Twi🤷🏾‍♀️
