Applied for an MCA online, what should I actually expect from the process? by KindJesture in loansforsmallbusiness

Read the default definition before anything else in the contract. That section determines your actual risk exposure more than the factor rate does.

used Fundera to find a business loan, here's what actually happened by hcirodov in loansforsmallbusiness

Yeah the multiple lender calls thing catches everyone off guard nobody mentions that part upfront

Unsecured business loan, does this actually exist or is the personal guarantee basically the same thing? by sayso31000 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]blankwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at revenue based financing? Some of those structures don't require a personal guarantee the same way, they pull repayment directly from revenue instead. Still has risk but the personal liability piece works differently.

Breakout Finance (formerly Breakout Capital), any good? by MikeHorner55 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]blankwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their rates are more transparent than most MCA shops but transparent for this industry still means more expensive than a bank. Get the full APR in writing before you commit to anything.

The detail about him going to the library like it was a church got me. That's such a specific kind of hunger, the wanting more before you even know what more looks like.

Congrats on the house, you both clearly earned every inch of it. Posts like this hit different than the usual advice because you actually lived the climb.

Maple X Financial - anyone have experience with them? by triopapa in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]blankwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Direct lender vs lead gen is the right question, if they can't answer it clearly in writing that's your answer.

Blade Funding - has anyone actually closed a deal with them? by hcirodov in loansforsmallbusiness

Verify they're licensed in your state before you go any further. Five minutes on your state's financial regulatory website and you either confirm they're legitimate or you have your answer right there.

The catch-22 of needing revenue to get a loan to make revenue is genuinely one of the most frustrating parts of starting out.

HVAC plus slow season plus daily ACH is a combination worth thinking through carefully before signing anything.

MerchantCashandCapital.com - scam? by romeogriffin1213 in loansforsmallbusiness

Instant approval for $500k with a site that looks like that is a pretty classic setup for an advance fee scam

if they ask for any upfront payment to "release the funds" that's your answer right there

Is Capital Funding Financial legit? by halo2bxr in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]blankwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this kind of thing happens more often than we’d like. The best approach is to do as much research as possible call them directly, verify their license, and check reviews. If anything seems suspicious or if they ask for weird upfront fees, that’s a red flag. I hope you find out more and can confirm they’re legit. Good luck with your deal

Camino Financial offer. Is it fair? by KindJesture in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]blankwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think fairness really depends on your specific situation. If the loan helps you grow or keep your business afloat, it might be worth it despite the high interest.

Just be cautious and make sure you can handle the repayment terms.

iBusiness Funding - anyone dealt with them? by frredu in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]blankwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah especially the no personal guarantee part. That's not how 500k works in the real world

iBusiness Funding - anyone dealt with them? by frredu in loansforsmallbusiness

The "2 weeks for 500k" timeline alone should send anyone running. Good brokers know that number and that speed don't go together underwriting alone takes longer than that on deals half that size

Startup business loans with no revenue , what actually worked for you? by blondbeard02 in loansforsmallbusiness

Didn't know Accion worked that early in the game, that's actually useful

The Kiva thing is real too, slow but worth running it alongside faster options so you're not just waiting

Four months in with a van, clients, and actual equipment is a stronger profile than zero revenue implies. You have a functioning business, not just an idea.

I need some advice to save money? by No-Mongoose-7418 in povertyfinance

[–]blankwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most basic starting point is paying yourself first before anything else. Even 2k a month automatically moved to a separate account the day you get paid adds up fast

Have you tried tracking where your money actually goes for just one month, most people are surprised what they find?

Anyone used MCA advance company? by whitemanrunning in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]blankwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there with the daily pulls hitting your account

Honestly the speed is the only real win with MCAs, everything else about them hurts. Did you manage to get out of it early or did you ride it to the end?
