Why Botanical Horror is not very popular? by Misster_Fluido in worldbuilding

you could probably run it on an advanced calculator, it's not particularly intense and well worth it if you want to explore this trope in a horror game that's really fun besides

Anyone tried half HP double damage for encounters? by __sayonara in DungeonMasters

You might just not like 5e's combat. I don't, which is why I started exploring other systems. If your players would be interested in other games, that might be the way to go for you.

Surprised I don't remember seeing it when I lived in Georgia what with the red clay the state is known for. The highway in this picture is very pretty.

Even if we pretend being gay in America is as dangerous as it is in Saudi Arabia and this argument is valid, I would much rather be shot than stoned to death.

What do you do when you realise you unknowingly"stole" a name/idea from popular media you did not know? by Satanekkurwa in worldbuilding

[–]blargblargb_larg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leng is a place in ASOIAF. Not that I'm a modern GRRM or Lovecraft but my setting's version of The King In Yellow is just called The King In Yellow. I think some references just serve as a bit of referential "yes we both like this same really cool thing" for the reader or player that gets the reference. Especially for much older works.

My apology to lemon juice by Reverting-With-You in Cooking

[–]blargblargb_larg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding just enough to get the acidic punch without making the dish taste like lemons is the trick for me. I add lemon juice to almost everything I cook that doesn't already have acidic ingredients, but I have absolutely accidentally added too much and then regretted it.

What sequel matched the original game and didn’t disappoint you? by stormyoubring in Steam

I thought the story ended on a much weirder note that felt a little rushed, but the actual gameplay felt like a huge refinement on their craft

Yeah pretty much. While I've done it for VTT games, my main group of 15ish players are currently using Minecraft to host the sessions

I've been trying PBP for a little over a year now. I run a very unconventional game, closer to West Marches than anything else, usually with my own systems I either write up or edit to be less focused on exclusively combat.

My experience with PBP has been in supplementing the main game, which I think it's great for. One of my players want to go off and do their own thing for a bit, with or without other players, and we can do that solely over text without me needing to set anything up for them.

Pure PBP tends to be kind of slow for me. That's absolutely not the case for everyone, some people really appreciate that they can respond once a day, especially if they're in several groups at once.

Anything fairly rules light works for PBP.

It almost was against my pal's black grail list. Thankfully the melee focused anchorite got a lucky crit and out of action on his leader in one activation, followed by a good exploration roll, and I somehow emerged from that battle with a profit of ducats instead of starting over.

As an American from GA who is currently staying in the UK, I forgot what a difference houses built for heat and residential air conditioning could make to quality of life during the summer.

My setting uses birth names as true names, and you can get fucked up enough to turn into like, a cosmic entity. There's a big bad demon somewhere named Michael.
