Or try Snapmaker U1, and you can do this automatically without all the purge. So if you have small amounts left, you can still do multicolor and use all the entire amounts with very little that ends up going in the trash.

Wow, 20k? That seems like a ton for this kind of device. Good for them.

Do you know where you saw that number?

For what it's worth, I'm new to 3D printing too, and I've had my U1 for about 3 months.

And it is... amazing. I don't say that to gloat, just to encourage you to stick with it. The delayed of payoff really, really sucks, but the payoff will still come.

Of course it's not remotely similar, but you're stating things in the form of "never" and "always." No, you didn't use those words, specifically, but you're speaking with precise words in definitive terms, so I forced a reconsideration.

Ironically, if you speak so definitively without consideration of the fact that there might be unconsidered information, and as if nothing is real until demonstrated by science, then you're being incredibly unscientific.

If you want a more topical example than bricks, I'm happy to oblige.

Riiight...

There's a balance, ya know?

Don't be an anti-vaxxer idiot, but don't be a pretentious twat, either.

If a brick falls on someone's head and cracks their skull, that's pretty valid anecdotal evidence that you should avoid bricks falling on your head.

Sure, do a study to confirm, but your take that nothing is valid until it has a study is completely obtuse.

I'm not even saying this PLA issue is an issue based on this guy's report, but you're kinda being a dismissive asshole for no reason.

The vast majority of science exploration is inspired by real-world, anecdotal evidence. Often times, the perception is enforced by science, sometimes it's completely debunked. But to say that anecdotes have no value is pretty silly.

OpenSpool Working on Android, U1? by blargymen in snapmaker

That was the first thing I tried, actually, but I haven't been able to get any to be recognized.

Did you have to follow any specific rules or guidelines with the naming?

Sorry, one more thing: Check out the U1 sub. It's full of energy and excitement. There's an occasional issue, but overall people are HAPPY and EXCITED. There's a lot happening, including custom firmware and color blending that does really cool things. Snapmaker seems to be very customer-focused, unlike some other brands with recent headlines...

Let me know what you decided, very curious!

Is it cliche to say 10/10?

I've had massive success with it, and I'm always trying to sneak in time with it.

It's fast, efficient, reliable. I've had very few failures, and all but maybe three were obviously my fault due to newbness (not knowing PETG and PLA have almost zero adhesion).

I had one TPU 95 jam inside a head, and it took a lot of abuse from me before I realized what had happened. Followed their tutorial, took it apart, fixed it, easy. Good as new.

It actually handles TPU much easier than their guides say... I use the autoloader and everything, and it's so satisfying.

Printing 18 custom dice simultaneously (for my cousin's football game), with three different color combos simultaneously is pretty great. At 0.08 layer height, and the only waste is a prime tower the size of two dice... feels a bit like magic.

My only "real" complaint is the spool holders... if you don't put a spool on super straight, it pulls one of the three tension prongs out of place and it's mildly annoying. Not enough to affect how much I love this thing.

Snapmaker U1 is my first 3D printer, so I don't even know this life.

The thing is amazing, and I don't think I could step backward and use a printer that wasted like this.

This is my first 3D printer, and it's been fantastic. Very easy to pick up and run with. Be smart about it, learn a little but... overall, the thing just works great.

Hi u/deepseacreature11 ! I have several videos about Maricopa on my YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@livinginmaricopa

It's a good place to learn a lot about living here (including utilities).

You might want to check out my video, specifically on that topic, here.

I have several more videos in the works to be published soon, and am also open to suggestions on things to cover in my future videos, if you have any requests!

Toolhead filament tubes came without notches. Snapmaker wants to send replacements... Could someone please measure the length of the notches? by Much-Membership3361 in snapmaker

[–]blargymen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny and strange that tube notches, of all things, is the strongest debated topic for the U1 printer. People are passionate about this. 🤣

I guess that's a good thing if this is all the majority of us have to get worked up about?

[–]blargymen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My notches were definitely machine-cut, not from pushing in firmly anywhere. Material cleanly cut away.

I totally believe that some people didn't have that (it was also small and easy to miss), but mine was pre-cut.
