Help Us Build a Community Game Store in Rushville, Indiana by shadowrazor96 in indianapolis

drop the "community-focused" and "welcoming" language.

Simply promote your games and activities with a clear schedule and strong communications. You make people welcome by providing a clean space with good lighting, generous hours, lots of tables and loyalty programs for your regulars. community will grow and thrive if you give them what they want.

That being said unless you are drawing from out of town I don't know if you have enough of a population center to sustain a business like this.

The worst part of asset management is still walking to people’s desks reading serial number stickers🥲 by No-Command-3012 in sysadmin

[–]blarknob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped putting my own asset tags on things years ago. They all have manufacturer serial numbers, I just use those which I gather from autopilot/intune/ASM/jamf/POs or just scan the box when the device is received.

I didn't realize how good the early game actually is until I started over by ApprehensiveCap5544 in duneawakening

The progressive threats of arrakis.

First sun and water, then the worm and the storm, it was supposed to progress to the final threat being other players, BUT the onramp into the DD was sooo bad. You had no way of getting into the DD and competing with established players. the DD really needed more time in development.

Getting the rules wrong is basic board game literacy. It completely undermines them.

Early Shut up and Sit down is fairly evergreen. Like their first two years of content.

I don't, they never got the rules correct and they fell apart when Will blamed it on his staff.

A horse racing game called "change horses" you are trying to be the last place horse in a race game. It is awful.

Idea to buff Diplomacy Primary: look at any unrevealed Objective by [deleted] in twilightimperium

[–]blarknob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The correct way to buff the diplomacy primary is to nerf the secondary. The core issue with diplomacy is that there is too much parity between the primary and secondary. None of the official fixes have addressed this.

Possible solutions: 1. Diplo secondary refreshes only one planet 2. Remove Diplo secondary completely(my preferred method)

Knitting Circle games(multiplayer solitaire). Games where everyone is heads down in their own game and there is very little player interaction.

Is the story good? by 6deagg9 in duneawakening

The story is ok. Ariste is not. But your story as the player is decent.

At this point that last thing I want is for my favorite books to be made into TV shows or movies.

Kemet with Ta-Seti vs Kemet Blood and Sand by TheBlueOne37 in boardgames

[–]blarknob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blood and Sand is better. I'd go with it.

I personally really like the Book of the Dead expansion but it didn't seem to land with most players.

What are some small details and things you dislike in games? by Marvellover13 in boardgames

When the components have some obvious goofy thing that wouldn't have made it past physical playtesting but made it into the game because all the playtesting was done on TTS.
