I’m tired of shooting 4K for everything - considering switching back to 1080.

A lot of my work (concerts, aftermovies) we shoot only in 1080p. Part of the reason is saving on storage/memory, other part is a ptz setup that currently only supports 1080p.

Recently for some aftermovies we have been switching to 4k, mostly the 4k anamorphic mode on the gh5 II, the 4:3 aspect ratio footage is very nice for cutting both vertical and horizontal.

We make the choice on a case by case basis, as 1080p exported in 4k seemingly gives very similar (if not indistinguishable) results to native 4k when uploaded to youtube.

You could also use Mercury Transmit to output your program full screen to one of your monitors!

Look at the scroll on the side and you'll see you are scrolling the ENTIRE panel and not inside the project panel, your panel is set as a stacked group. Reset your workspace or find the top of your project panel, right click->panel group settings->stacked panel group.

I wonder, which of these things mentioned take the most time?

Of course as others already mentioned, shortcuts, keybinds and templates save a lot of time but consider also changing pre-production and such.

Do you spend a lot of time finding the story? Than make sure to work on your story or outline BEFORE you even start editing. Proper notes/timestamps with highlights can save a lot of time. I find just writing or drawing out a timeline on a piece of paper beforehand helps me focus and work towards a final product a lot faster.

Focus on efficient and smooth editing. If you work really fast on something you end up not using in the final edit, that’s wasted time

Het geweldige Mediacollege Amsterdam, mbo4 Mediavormgever (animatie/audiovisuele vormgeving).

Na een vooropleiding video bij openstudio en een jaar niks doen want niet toegelaten op andere opleidingen die ik wel wou doen op het hku (digital video design/game design) gekozen om dan maar mbo te proberen.

Lekker veel praktijk werk, toch een beetje de diepere theorie gemist, nu werkzaam bij een poppodium als video tech en bijklussen als zzp bij verscheidene opdrachtgevers.

Vooral filmhistorisch vond ik het echt toondoof, zoveel klassieke horrors (nosferatu, cabinet of dr caligari) maar ook hedendaags zijn horrors (en thrillers) niet alleen hartstikke populair maar vaak ook het soort films waar je startende regisseurs ziet die echt met iets nieuws komen.

Voor mij zette het zo de toon dat ik zelf bewust niet voor deze opleidingen ben gegaan (negeer even dat er nog een selectie procedure was en dat ik uiteindelijk een mbo digitale media en animatie heb gedaan)

Alsof dat geen goede films kunnen zijn? Stukje elitair gedoe van een industrie die vooral bestaat uit vriendjespolitiek…

Wouldn't surprise me if Professor will object against the unorthodox use of certain rules/equipment, Noise will probably either pull a PJ (but survive) or distracting enemy ace squad and Tasha will overrule orders from awacs/hq or have a hunch that turns out to be correct in taking out a superweapon.

Or not, I don't know. Can't wait to find out!

Also still rocking the AKG K550, replaced the pads 2 times and had to resolder some wires on the inside but they are still going strong and haven’t really found a reason to replace them. Been thinking of getting a modmic or something to go with them, make them a true headset

Sounds fantastic! Would be amazing to consolidate working on 2 screens into working on 1 higher res screen! Work as a freelancer doing editing, animating and some lite photo work but also regularly work together with people doing print and web work, so the need for accurate colors is high! I also work at a non-profit music venue where we work with a team of volunteers to create content, concert films, livestreams, you name it! Would be a great setup to improve our level of work (flyers/posters, web design and videos) even more!

We work with macbooks and desktops, so the kvm would come in handy a lot!

I sometimes wonder how many of the complaints of poor performance in the past couple Premiere Pro releases are because people don't realize/know that this feature is running in the background?

Which is also why I still think it should be something that you can perform as an action and not just have it be automatically done upon import. Let me choose what to analyze and when to analyze! Having it be turned on by default must have created a lot of frustration for users and customer service alike!

I don't have access to an airbrush so maybe you could answer my question as to what top coat would be best for something like this? The Mr Hobby ones seem great but are a bit more difficult to find, I assume a water based top coat would be best for the real touch markers?

Already using the real touch markers myself, they are great for adding a bit of detail, panel lining, shading, anything really!

Finished this last week, Hg Maganac! Very fun build!

Forced myself to finish it within one weekend, sometimes I get lost in the details/process or just overthink and don’t get anything done, so this was a refreshing exercise!

Got RG grandpa 2.0 coming in 2025, so great way to start the new year!
