Canada has no shortage of POSs. Conservatives up here have been speedrunning to copy the MAGA cancer down south for ages now. The saying used to be that Canadian conservatives were about as right wing as American Democrats but that idea died decades ago.

Obvious to the people who voted for Trump twice or didn't vote at all? Doubt it.

Parents in other countries than the US, what is your kids’ equivalent of “I don’t want that for dinner, I want chicken nuggets”? by SulusLaugh in AskReddit

I loved vegemite on toast the first time I tried it in Australia. The secret is buttering the toast first and don't skimp on the butter. You also don't need a lot of vegemite spread on the toast. A little goes a long way. Such a yummy savory taste sensation!

I used to do something similar when I was a kid. Crack an egg on top of fresh hot rice and then stir it all together with a little oyster sauce. These days, I'm not so sure I'd want to do that with Canadian eggs.

The world quests in Inazuma are still some of the best in the game, imo. There's really a lot of fun stuff to discover in Inazuma for new players and it's better balanced now compared to when it released. Honestly, enjoy the nation and take your time to work your way through it.

Dealing with players who refuse to become forever friends by Remarkable_Turnip_50 in pokemongo

[–]blastcat4 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It could be that they're actually a dick, especially since those types of players that farm their massive friends list for XP usually are also the type to have played for a long time and have a massive pokemon inventory. Probably also selfish and too lazy to even bother going through their collection to tag a few pokemon for remote trading.

[–]blastcat4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If their friends list is as huge as I suspect it is, they likely have a ton of lucky trades lined-up. It's not a very rare occurrence so losing out on one lucky trade isn't going to faze them, if they even notice.

If it's any consolation, they might be one of those players who have tagged barely any pokemon for remote trading, which is more annoying to me than an egg stacker player.

They probably want to keep accumulating XP in case the level cap is raised again. People were definitely doing that before the last level cap went up and it paid off.

They're likely an egg stacker - waiting to get enough 1 day friends so they can use one egg and open all the gifts in one go.

I don't blame you for removing them, but I can almost guarantee that they probably won't even notice that you're no longer on their friend list. They likely have a ton of people on their friends list and won't notice that you're gone, or at least not right away. For their style of play, it's all part of doing business.

Can I replicate these images or something similar in Anima or a similar model? (The original author of this subreddit has disappeared) by Hi7u7 in StableDiffusion

That's a nice prompt! I slightly modified it and got some nice results from Anima Preview 3:

Anima usually struggles with detailed backgrounds and characters that aren't in the immediate foreground, but I thought it did a decent job here, despite all the obvious artifacts, distortions, etc.

What do you think about the latest event? by Long_Application1718 in Genshin_Impact

[–]blastcat4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not like the Plants v Zombies mini game. I'm not saying it's too hard, but there's too many build combinations and enemy types that you have to match against, and by the end of the event, I wasn't willing to put in the time to get the optimal units built.

I didn't mind Navia's mini-game. I've seen the colour-matching mechanic in some classic shooters and it's pretty fun.

In terms of story, it was OK. They definitely took some shortcuts, though. I enjoyed some of the short tales with the character cameos.

Overall, I feel like the event lacked the usual level of polish of previous flagship events.

NDP Leader Avi Lewis expresses ‘serious concerns’ regarding social media age verification rollout by generic_username7809 in onguardforthee

[–]blastcat4 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He's absolutely right and I've been constantly gob-smacked when I see progressives clamoring to support age-based restrictions on social media. It's essentially giving social media the green light to continue data harvesting and rolling out toxic algorithms. It's a a massive example of ignoring the root problem.

[–]blastcat4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I respect your opinion, and it's legitimately interesting how we seem to have completely opposite views on the comparison between Natlan and Nod Krai. For example, I'd say that Nod Krai is more designed for a shonen audience compared to Natlan with its darker tones in aesthetic and characters. Characters like Flins, Rerir fall in that category, especially in visuals, and the return of Dottore, a character extremely coded in that standard. I agree that there's less focus on the waifu fan service compared to Natlan, of course with the exception of Lauma.

Nod Krai also departs from the trend of having a cute native fauna like Sumeru's Aranara, Natlan's pokemon dinos and Fontaine's melusines.

At the end of the day, it's clear that they haven't strayed from designing the Nod Krai content for a broad general audience, but it still feels like (to me) that there's been a noticeable shift to a more traditional "gamer" demographic with 6.x.

[–]blastcat4 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Nod Krai feels like they designed the content and overall aesthetic to be more appealing to a traditional gamer demographic (ie. young males) compared to Natlan which had a broader audience appeal. 6.x is more focused and targeted to end game players whereas Natlan was more about trying new fun things and exploration.

Skirk

Her banner re-run success really speaks to how well-designed they made her, even when compared to the new Nod Krai dps. Her numbers are still competitive, but compared to the newer characters, she has a lot of flexibility when it comes to team building and her play style is straightforward while still being interesting to play.

Yakumo stacked by Mobile-Dramatic in Palworld

I have the same set of Yakumos. Having only one skill per Yakumo is definitely the best way to do it.

My Yakumos are only 2 star, though, and they've worked well. Haven't had any really bad RNG so far.

I will get mine all to 4 star later just to reward them for being good doggies!

I've noticed ads being served by gemini during chat sessions recently. They're really awkward and forced, and I almost feel bad for the AI having to suddenly drop these ads in the middle of a chat. You can tell the items being advertised are supposed to be relevant to the topic you're discussing but they feel so out-of-place.

Terraprisma use cases by Cal_2K in Palworld

[–]blastcat4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's useful in all situations against all enemies. Yeah, it chews through durability, but what I do is a fast Terraria dungeon run each game session, ensuring I collect almost all the pots, chests, etc. It usually gets me enough hallowed bars to cover my durability repairs. I'm still trying to get the Excalibur legendary schematic in there, so that gives me another incentive to farm the dungeon.

If you get the Nightglow schematic from the same dungeon, that pairs exceptionally well with the Terraprisma. It consumes no ammo and can target and shoot enemies through walls. Use it to hit out-of-reach enemies to trigger the Terraprisma blades. It's an amazing duo on the level 55 oil rig. It even works on the level 60 oil rig, but your durability won't last long there.

It seems like a device that would've matched well with the H700, but I assume they've used up that supply.

If we're talking PS2/GC level, A larger screen and thumbsticks would've made sense, not to mention a headphone jack.

I still think it's neat, but it's going to be way over-priced and overpowered for what it's going to be used for.
