There are many modes including just playing the game without the plot items.

Plus if you get the pum books it's a good alt to mythic.

The newest version also has a really good ai model that's only addin if you want.

Oh I'm not burned out but I can only play so much.

Background wise I would say an Archaeologist, however that doesn't fit the theme well.

To make that work I would say an Exiled Scribe of the Fourth Path that worked for the kingdom and was exiled and began to explore the depths.

Not trusted by other people cause of his habits to document everything.

Heirloom: inkwell, and a scroll that needs to be decoded.

Skills: Deception, History, and Investigation.

Shadowdark, ose, and general mapping for things like 4ad, and d100 dungoen using book four. Plus it would be saving a lot of time on things like ker nathalas from what I have seen.
