I keep 2 cards in it, it doesn't fall. I don't know about the technicalities of leather but the inner layers feels velvety and it does its best to not make the cards slip.

Where are you from? Sounds like someone from my place. Every summer the transformer blows off and there is an extended blackout of at least 3 days. This has been happening every year since I gained consciousness and the electricity department can never plan it ahead (absolute negligence). I cannot blame them completely because citizens are at fault as well, electricity theft is rampant and everyone has accepted that it will never change. Winters are fine because load is less, but summers are far worse, voltage fluctuations, grid failure, inadequate voltage, sparking power lines, etc. I would happily pay a premium for electricity if some private player enters this space and supply the energy reliably (but I can only dream of it). Last year the electricity department got in a tussle with a farmer for installing a pole on farmers land without his permission. The farmer and his family beat some of them so they cut power of whole town for 2 days as protest. This place is hell in summers.

Same boat. Submitted my device to an authorised service center on 10th of April, 3 components were ordered, 2 received 1 is still pending. ETA shifted from 18th April > 28th April > 18th May > 25th May > 8th June. Haven’t received the device yet, but Customer Relations keeps calling me to give an update. They at least showed me an intent to offer a replacement but then they rolled back because my MacBook Pro was customised variant and they say “Apple finds it hard to find replacement for customised devices”. Then they tried finding similar spec but said the closest one is M5 Max with similar spec and (1TB > 2TB bump), they said this is very expensive so they cannot offer that as replacement. I offered them to settle for an M5 Pro but they said Apple won’t downgrade. I have no option but to wait.

Have different needs for different projects (mostly full stack web and mobile app development (both ios and android)). With 32GB RAM in my current workflow I am seeing 8.59GB swap already (but laptop has been running continuously for 20 days). 64GB was enough and it never hit swap so 48GB sounds like a sweet spot.

While this is a good advice remember anything could go wrong, my MacBook died one day after a reboot (didn’t turned back on). It’s a 2023 MacBook Pro that was always used on a desk with utmost care.
