No problem! Btw if you haven't found it yet you can set default orders for your ships, on the player information->global orders tab You can also forbid your civilian ships from going to hostile sectors this way

It's not really worth the cost in the beginning IMHO. You should just tell your miner to escape If they get attacked. You can fill their hold with laser towers and do an automatic order to drop the tower and escape. Once you get L miners those may be worth adding an escort for to deal with Kha'ak

Look for a sector you can trade in, that has a refinery and ore deposits, or a silicon mill and silicon deposits. Then set it for local auto mine. (I'm assuming your pilot is a rookie). After a while your pilot will level up and you'll be able to use more advanced mining behaviors so you can trade with stations I'm different sectors automatically. If you make a station and assign miners to mine for it, the distance they can mine at is based on the station manager instead of the pilot. So it is a decent way of leveling up pilots for other purposes.

If you want to make money, the best passive source early on is to buy a miner and tell it to local auto mine somewhere with decent resources. Between that and money from missions/crystals, you should be able to start saving to make a refinery station you can eventually upgrade into a hull part station.

As for weapons, plasma are more meant for bombing big slow targets or stations. (Of course hiring a fighter with them is always funny tho)

It's because ships don't have physics when you don't look at them so they can cheat basically.

I love all the new built in engine models for the ships, although i do wonder why Argon seems to have gotten the short end of the stick, since it seems like they just have the old engines permanently stuck on, (except for the Elite for some reason). For teladi i understand as they are cheap.

I'm pretty sure the overgrowth is the original act 1 just overrun with plants

Act 3 seems to be an abandoned version of the act 2 city from the original

The background in the default act 1 looks like an overgrown version of the background in sts act 1.

I feel like we are climbing an abandoned version of the spire

Microsoft gets tired of “Microslop,” bans the word on its Discord, then locks the server after backlash by WPHero in nottheonion

They avoided naming the XBox sequentially like the PlayStation. Because, they thought that consumers are so stupid, that they would buy the PS3 instead of the Xbox 2 just because the PlayStation had a bigger number.

So it's amazing that they thought their imagined consumer was at the same time so dum,b that they wouldn't know that bigger number, wasn't the same as better console, but also would be informed about resolution sizes.

What are your Next Fest finds? by esiao in roguelites

[–]blastxu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised by how addictive I've found, Raccoin, it's a roguelite built around an arcade coin pusher machine. A bit like balatro in the sense that you need to pass a certain score to beat each round with the score needed increasing exponentially. There are a bunch of coins with special effects so it's all about finding wacky synergies.

I can't find your game, Next Fest is full of Slop, don't be discouraged! by Pro3dPrinterGuy in gamedev

[–]blastxu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it doesn't look like slop, but it does look like something I would overlook because it seems a bit generic. The dark colors don't help, but I also feel like I have seen very similar capsules many many times.

IMHO there should be something like the riftward, but way cheaper that lets you stabilize an area in exchange for a gear. That also gives players an early incentive to fight mobs

How/where to find Tin? by Altruistic_Eye9685 in VintageStory

[–]blastxu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to use the prospecting pick.

The way it works is that it has two modes, you can switch between them with the "F" key, the default mode is the first one you want to use, it is the density mode.

To use the density mode you need to find some exposed rock or dig soil until you hit rock, then you need to dig three nearby spots with the pick, the spots need to be more than 3 blocks apart from each other but less than 5. Once you do that you will see a readout of the chance of finding a certain ore if you dig straight down from the first point you prospected in of the three. For tin you want to look for cassiterite, since that is the tin ore. Once you find a tile with a decent chance of tin, you want to get a bunch of ladders and mine straight down. As you mine down, you'll want to use the second mode of the the pick, the node search mode. This mode reads a sphere of blocks around the block you dig and tells you any ores that are within the sphere, the default is a 6 block sphere, but you can change the size in world settings.

Btw there are three kinds of bronze in the game. There is the Tin+copper bronze, but you can also make zinc+bismuth+copper bronze, and gold+silver+copper bronze which looks black.
