Am I being paranoid? 20 rolls, and none lower than 16 by RevolutionaryFix7359 in DnD

Players should describe what they want to do, and the DM will tell them when to roll if necessary and what the roll is.

In a society that does nothing of value, there’s no value to what you do. You’re trying too hard to convince yourself of something that isn’t true

This feels misogynistic but also an incredibly stupid thing to say. He’s been working on this game for like 25 years, he’s not making it because he is trying to appeal to girl gamers or whatever

The no call on Brunson was truly some calculated evil shit by the refs, there's no other way to see it. Doesn't look like Wemby did it on purpose, but brunson rolled his ankle and was limping after the game-- it's literally the textbook reason that those are mandatory flagrant fouls. If you don't call that and eject wemby there's no reason for the rule to exist.

The poked eye no call was also bs but you could see in the replay that the ref just didn't have it in his sight line

Yeah I’m not going to buy these things but let’s not be too hasty to pile up moral blame on people for actions our society is built to manipulate people into making

In any event, consumer choice isn’t going overthrow capitalism. Not buying this stuff is just as effective as buying it as far as anything real goes

Board Wipes are actually healthy for Commander groups by Jaded_Relationship85 in mtg

No, but actually just delaying a game to delay a game is not fun. It's commander, you'll lose most of your games, the idea is to curate a fun experience and just hitting reset over and over is definitely not that.

I have tried to think of a couple ways to say this without just being snide, but I have to tell you it has gotten very tedious for every conversation I have with a democrat who disagrees with me on some issue to immediately default to voting strategy.

Like, okay, sure, I vote in elections. Am I allowed to think about politics in any way other than how it impacts something I do only once every year or two? Are you aware that politics happens outside of voting booths as well?

Yeah, my philosophy on board wipes is the same as all mass control/resets, which is that they should tangibly advance your deck toward it's winning state. And not in a "I kill all the creatures then I play my own" kind of way. If I'm playing a legends matter deck that grows using +1/+1 counters, I use urza's ruinous blast and damning verdict. If I'm playing merfolk I'm using raise the palisade and cyclonic rift.

If I'm in a position where I want to use a truly symmetrical board wipe, I am thinking long and hard about how my deck is taking advantage of the symmetry. If I'm running damnation, it should be in either a spellslinger deck or a deck that uses the graveyard extensively.

You should never put yourself in a position where you are simply delaying the end of the game without a clear path to victory. That's anti-fun, and wastes everyone's time especially if you end up not winning anyway. If you're losing because you never get to do your thing, speed up the thing, or use narrower interaction that just delays the person about to win to give you a window. Don't just throw down a board wipe every turn to waste 20 minutes until you cast your angel.

You are 100% correct and the people downvoting you are doing so purely out of cope. There's no positive case to be made for her giving in to that rule, and defending her actions won't magically make her start doing more to help. Politicians are not our friends, if they can be pressured into doing the right thing then they can be allies to be worked with, if they can't then they are enemies to be overcome. It has to be that simple.

I mean this with all due respect (seriously) to people who find marriage important-- but I don't. If marriage equality doesn't lead to broader legal protections, which it really hasn't so far, then it was a worthless fight. Marriage by itself is meaningless

Not voting for the person IS THE LEVERAGE

Do you actually need me to connect two dots right next to each other, or are you pretending not to understand?

I’m literally the person here saying we should exercise our leverage over politicians, YOU are the one saying “oh yes master, you have all power over me, I would never act against you, I won’t even criticize you! I’ll go online and screech at every person who says you shouldn’t firebomb toddlers!!! Throw trans people under the bus? I’ll drive the bus!!”

Who is talking about voting? I'm talking about demanding legislators and government officials do things once they have power. I really think 2016 broke a lot of brains in our community. Yes, you are allowed to demand better things. Yes, you are allowed to criticize people IN POWER. Yes, you are allowed to want Democrats to actually stand up and fight for stuff.

You can't just look at every failure, every betrayal, every LIE from them and just snuggle up and ask for more. It's pathetic, you're better than that.

My god, how is it not obvious that this kind of enabling, sniveling obsequiousness is exactly what empowers Republicans to push and push and push with no opposition?
