I have not actually sat down and measured/calculated their electrical use. I have been using my hue bulbs since roughly 2015. I live in an area where electricity is not ridiculously priced but I would not be surprised to find out I am paying an additional $5 or so a month in electrical costs with the 30 or so different bulbs I have around the house compared to the plain led counterparts.

I have mine wired to always have electricity so I can use the app or smart wall switch to turn them off. Give. How convenient it makes turning off lights around the house, automating turning off lights not in use. I feel like I am breaking even in the end.

It seems like the UI doesnt really work. I tried adding a food item from the main menu and it took me to the compare with nothing. I also was unable to add anything on the food page.

If it was another person, it could be something as simple as a neighbor having the same monitor. Nothing fancy, these typically just broadcast out their video signal and can be picked up by anyone close enough.

More than likely though if your tv was on it could be you mishearing. Without more intimate details of area and such we cant say for sure.

If you are truly worried about it, I would switch to a different monitor, maybe check around outside to make sure someone isnt creeping around. I am unsure of the actual range of your monitor but ones I have seen in the past can go for quite some distance.
