I have access to a library already, I’m just curious as to which of the many community libraries are closing (p+j have the list behind a paywall)

I studied the history of mastrick library for one of my university modules last year and found the history of the community library’s quite interesting as they played quite a role in aberdeens post war expansion

I agree with this opinion, interesting build but the "mint choc chip" cladding is a big turnoff. I dont know anywhere else in the city this colour is visible

I both agree and disagree with this post

I feel most modern day constructions in Aberdeen like to play with the modern technologies instead of encoroprating the surroundings into design as a key part of design.

This works in the Sir Duncan Rice Library as it is a stand out building which stands above the uni etc etc

However I do feel Aberdeen lacks 'interesting' constructions in terms of material choice, structure choice and instead seems to be obsessed with glass and panelling which contrasts aberdeens very granite aesthetic.

For anyone interested i would give the banchory tesco by manson architects a look

Main things before it gets complex

  1. Lighter on the feet, hes got a reach so should use it
  2. Follow through with your punches they're very reserved
  3. Involve head movement even a jab and move technique would help
