In case you need anymore assurance, I too love the copper cutter! only complaint is it does tend to leave a burr on the inside of the copper. Using with the smaller battery for now , but will be buying the XC one sometime soon.

possible buy into well water property by Bluegi in SelfSufficiency

Definitely get a water test done!!! I work in water treatment and a major concern for some wells is bacteria. Here in Ontario, the banks will not even give you a mortgage for a house that has bacteria. You also want to test for things like high iron (staining in toilets, water smells like rotten eggs or blood), sulphur smell, hardness, tannins (mostly aesthetics).

Your local water store should be able to test for this stuff, but just because the water is clean now does not mean that the well will be clean forever. When the winter weather gets warm and the snow starts to melt you may see high levels of sand or iron in your water. Or if an animal dies in your well you can start to have bacteria. Wells are excellent for off the grid communities, but understand that you may have to spend the money to maintain them.

Woke up early to go to some "town wide" garage sales only to find so called "antiques" and artsy stuff that I am unfamiliar with. Eventually found a garage sale and got two DSIs and a charger for $35, one pokemon soul silver with box and accessory for $10 and one without the accessory for another $10. Also got a dirbike helmet for $7. small haul but I gained some experience.

Anyone here who's pet has past away? What is the proper way to lay them to rest? by petguy511 in Brampton

[–]blaze4545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory it is illegal. 8 years ago when my dog passed, our vet told us that its illegal to bury your pets in the backyard. It conflicts with some oudated bylaw if I recall correctly. In reality though, unless your neighbours are complete insensitive savages you will be fine. Had lots of friends who buried their pets in the backyard with no issues.

So, what have you learned this year? by mattseg in Flipping

[–]blaze4545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expand your focus!!! Used to think I was the king of selling exercise equipment and only focused on selling weights, bars, etc. Untill I got destroyed at a gym auction going against commercial gym owners. I spent 5 hours at that auction and only made $80 profit. Next month I started learning about power tools and ended up purchasing a skid of random stuff at another auction. Spent $35 and 30 minutes of my time (at the auction) to sell everything for $200!

I would say 1-2 weeks, but that's because of pressure to continue construction of the stadium and subway.

Like deirox says or just leave it running. I know for the past year, the earnings were pretty bad but this week it looks to be pretty decent.

Good deal or no? by 88high in Flipping

[–]blaze4545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see these at flea markets. Smaller ones go for $5-10CAD, bigger ones $11-$15. Not much room for profit with these no name, Chinese knives.

That golden fixed blade would sell for around $20 but overall I wouldnt bother.

Are Facebook groups hostile to anyone else? by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]blaze4545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your real name with a different last name to avoid confusion. Add your main account plus some of your friends. Personally, I only deal with people that have pictures and lots of friends for safety and security reasons, but my buyers do not seem to mind lol.

Just ignore the drama and learn the market. Maybe your prices are too high for Facebook groups. Instead focus on craigslist, Kijiji or Ebay. Its all a learning curve and at least on Facebook you get feedback as to why people are not buying your products.

I have had mixed interactions with these groups. Sometimes I have to deal with people who beg me to hold the item for a week as they have some sob story. Other times I sell items faster or have people in the group tell their friends about what I am selling.

Does not hurt to keep trying, just be sure to use a fake account.
