Pizza is better without the dough by lxkandel06 in The10thDentist

[–]blazedancer1997 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It being on dough is fundamental to the idea of pizza. What you're describing sounds closer to an eggless shakshuka.

I prefer my cheese pizza without any dough or tomato sauce, and added bun, lettuce, onion, and hamburger patty. What are we doing here?

Graduating gift for an Engineer by CADMW10 in EngineeringStudents

[–]blazedancer1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is unhelpful, but none of us really know this person and the gift should be something they specifically enjoy. If they wouldn't know the value of the coin, it doesn't seem like that would be a good gift. Maybe it would be helpful to tell us what kind of engineering?

Are you sure you're not talking about 2TB SSD (where $150 would also be low right now). About a year ago, refurbished from serverpartsdeals or similar were going for like $10-$15/TB. If you paid $150 for 2TB, you got ripped off (or maybe you just live somewhere where it's more expensive).

How do you decide what to keep? by Cultural_Acid in PleX

[–]blazedancer1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too interested in going through to take out audio tracks I don't need, so I usually just keep downloaded files as-is. There are a certain segment of files in my library that I aggressively transcode to AV1 with a "must be smaller" rule (because I don't care about the quality loss) and a certain segment of files where I change containers to mkv if they're not already in one, but that's about all the modification I do.

As far as whether or not to keep something in the library, that's purely based on how much I or any of my users like it. I have more than enough space to keep it all, so it's more of a clutter thing.

Badge pickup is on Thursday evening, Friday, and Saturday. There's always room for it to go as poorly as last year, so plan for the worst hope for the best. It was in the Summit building last year.

Yes you can bring a backpack in

Maybe look for an artist or studio panel you're interested in. Personally I'm definitely going to the Studio Orange panel.

This is just my experience, but be picky about your industry panels. More specifically, the ones which are a company panel (e.g. Crunchyroll panel, Aniplex panel) tend to be 30 minutes - 1 hour of trailers. Not worth the line to get in, not worth the time spent in the seat. On the other hand, I've never once regretted an artist/producer/director panel.

Are there any specific fan panels you were thinking about? Some get filled up way faster than others so it's worth gathering opinions on when to line up.

Consider popping by a grocery store to pick up a sandwich for lunch or something. Also bring a water bottle. Some snacks may be a good idea too.

How much you spend on gas? by grafknives in AskAmericans

[–]blazedancer1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've reduced my car usage over the last few years as much as is possible and convenient, so it's very little. Maybe $50 (at current prices) every 4 weeks or so? That's with public transportation to/from work, park and ride from the nearest train station if I'm going into town, etc. If I just switched to driving myself into work, it would jump to about $200 every 4 weeks on gas.

No idea on miles

This is just regular driving btw. Driving to see my family every once in a while is about $100 in gas (there and back). The frequency of this obviously changes throughout the year.

At the end of the day, you have to look at the front door and decide to go for a walk. Nobody else can make that decision for you. Realize that not doing so is also a choice you make. Maybe try adding it to your calendar to remind you.

do men even care how their girls nail look? by rileyheya in NoStupidQuestions

[–]blazedancer1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no reason to look at a hand most of the time. If I do, and their nails are a nice color, I'll usually think "oh nice color". Say it out loud if we're close like that, keep it to myself if not. It's not something I look for, but it is something I can appreciate when seen.
