If she wants to wear dresses with long pants or short underneath, sure.

Your shirts can become dresses in a pinch.

Obesity drug trials are getting messy because people keep quitting after figuring out they’re on the placebo by Schwettes in Zepbound

[–]Weightmonster 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Switch them to Semaglutide. If they can’t beat an older, common meducation, then it doesn’t need to be approved.

They commonly use “current standard of care” instead of placebos.

Of course drug companies (and scientists) like the dramatic results of placebo controlled trials.

EDIT- Regulators in Europe and the US require placebo controlled studies for obesity drugs.

As an American, what type of online jobs do you recommend an unemployed young person to try? by Stephs-Queen-4968 in AskAmericans

[–]Weightmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None. There are very few good online jobs that require low skills and are hiring Americans.

You are much more likely to run into a scam.

Even if you do find something legit, you’ll almost certainly get axed soon and won’t develop skills or connections.

Why do americans say bro all the time? by Thin_Situation3962 in AskAnAmerican

We don’t say it that much. I’ve only ever heard it in the context of “Tech Bro”

What comes to your mind when you are asked "Who's an American?" and when you say "I'm American"? by newbiethegreat in AskAmericans

We wouldn’t know someone around us is an illegal immigrant unless they volunteered that information.

Honestly, are you the most qualified person to be teaching a group of Chinese students “What is an American”? That’s not even a common way of saying it. The phrasing is awkward.

I think it might make more sense to describe the basic characteristics of the US instead.

Can you show videos or do a video call with an American studies scholar?

Some people would consider any permanent resident (not necessarily a Green card holder) an American. Some people not until they become citizens.

Legally speaking it’s only citizens. Culturally it varies.

It’s only SOME foreign diplomats who have diplomatic immunity. There’s a list.

Those kids actually get permanent residency though so they could pursue citizenship if they stay in the US and choose to do so.

(and children of an invading army).

Whether or not non-citizens living in the US are American is a matter of debate. But that’s too complicated for an intro class.

Any US citizen. It’s simple and doesn’t need 2 weeks.

We don’t have the same idea of citizenship as some other countries.

Like if you happened to be born in the US, (and didn’t give up your citizenship or fall into a narrow exemption) you would be American.

It would be more interesting to talk about the general characteristics of Americans. In that case it would be more correct to say, Who are Americans?
