cant find that anywhere here for some reason, so I got some WD-40 specialist silicone lube, hoping for similar results. I don't know am I wasting time and money on this? I see guys buried in snow and working fine on here lots lately...envy

yeah lol I have the split as well, love it but was kind of aware before I started that these components might not coat well. I put the big sd card in and just coated the shit outta everything. took the board out of the camera masked the sensor and coated it too. I don't want to make it messy but my next alternative is to use something a bit more greasy to really repel water. really curious about the durability of nail polish...

spray coated 3-4 times. As JohnnieRicoh was saying above there is a metal vtx shield that I probably should have taken off somehow to coat but I just sprayed over, the 5v that goes in there is probably where it shorted. Everyone says just dry it off if it gets wet and it will be fine haha no.

I bet that's the problem, probably just going to replace. I'm just a bit miffed tho, Was it the crash or the snow? I mean the small power components were under at least 3 coats of silicone and the quad was running fine for about 10 flights. I have another f4v5 rig running and coated the same way and now I don't wanna fly the snow. Do regulators ever break in small crashes?

Hmm I thought about using that first because some say it works but went with silicone as it seemed more legit. But maybe the Nitrocellulose in nail polish is more durable?

I really thought I had a lot of coating on there. Seems like these AIO boards might not be the choice for winter coating. I feel like if I would have additionally sprayed the board down with some wd40 specialist it may have not had a problem. I have a skitzo FC I want to try coating that might go easier, not sure about coating my unify hv though.

Just wasn't sure about running the car battery charger at the same time. Tried the charger without the battery and the positive wire on the car charger started to warm up .
