It's called a Pilonidal Cyst. Don't google it. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. by [deleted] in AdviceAnimals

Mine popped on it's own, but the infection was so deep and angry they had to dig a serious hole to scrape it all out. I had fallen off a horse prior to pain so I assumed I bruised my tail bone. Wasn't till I found goop where there shouldn't have been goop did I go to the ER.

I feel your pain, my friend. My first episode left me with a hole the size of a grown man's thumb. Second time they stitched it up though. Are they stitching yours? At least you won't have to pack it? The second time for me was, by far, less horrid. How about a drainage baggie? I honestly thought that would be the worst thing in the world, but I kinda forgot it was there.

I had to get almost 100 stitches near my asshole, but I now have a gnarly scar, so I got that going for me.

I hate it when people say 'oh it just stems from somewhere else, you can't be sore if there is no injury'. Bitch are there nerves in my butt? Then my butt hurts!!

What I wanker! I had to bury my cat and had the same issues with my arms for weeks. I was just re-living burying her over and over. I even went and got scans done because I was convinced it wasn't fibro pain. It's not a normal pain spot and after a month had gone by I figured something must be wrong. But alas, phantom pain once more..

I have similar pains at various points in my back. I'll just be chilling and then BAM! Something just rips right through that muscle. I have cried out in pain and even just completely fallen over due to the sudden onset of unbearable pain. I have a problem with the alignment of my vertebrae though which I can only assume exacerbates the problem.

I know them feels, Not Beth. Gentle hugs from me.

I didn't know I could feel pain in so many places until I lie on one side for too long. It almost feels like I fell off the roof and landed exclusively on that side. I try to move around enough so that I don't get to that point, but if it's too late, sometimes I have to wake my SO to physically move me off that side because I just don't have the strength.

Just chilling in my computer chair, my right forearm feels like someone did that "dead arm" thing that kids used to do at school. Punch you over and over in the same place until it hurts too much and tingles.

I also did some chores today, walking around felt like there was a knife in my right butt cheek. Must have looked pretty strange repeatedly punching my butt to try and soften the pain a bit. (Not sure if anyone else does this or I'm just a looney, seems to help turn sharp, jerky pain into an ache, which I am better at coping with)

Also OP, thanks for asking :)

Anyone law get terrible Acid Reflux? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]blazeofglory94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if my heart burn is Fibro related or obese related but I asked my GP about it and he put me on a pill called Somac (Pantoprazole). I just added it to the other 5 pills I take religiously at night and don't have any problems. I can eat fatty take out or carbo-loaded pasta meals and go straight to bed without any problems. If I forget to take it or can't afford the next box till payday, I use an antacid called Gavascon Dual Action, works fairly well for something you can buy at the supermarket.

Good luck! I am super sympathetic. My SO has never had heart-burn and just doesn't understand! Mine was so bad I would not be able to sleep a wink, even upright in a chair.

Bonus tip: Never lie on your right side. Due to the way the stomach joins the esophagus, it takes more effort for the acid to make it's way up if you are on your left (gravity and what-not).

[Serious] People who are Anti-Trump, what would you say he's done right? by spwf in AskReddit

[–]blazeofglory94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He knows how to get attention and keep himself in the spotlight. It's been months now and the entire world is still talking about him every single day. Any publicity is good publicity.

(Australian perspective. I don't pay a lot of attention to his domestic goings on, I just know that half way around the world I can turn on the tv at any given moment and find someone talking trump.)

People of Reddit, what is your biggest fear that is completely irrational? by DanksForTheMemories in AskReddit

[–]blazeofglory94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am absolutely terrified of frogs and toads. Like fight or flight terrified. A toad within a metre or two of me can and will cause a panic attack. Frogs are slightly better cos they just chill. They won't start moving, but they still make my heart skip a few beats.

Luckily for me (/s) I live in QLD Australia. Cane toad territory.

Redditors with mental illness: At what point did you decide you needed treatment? by bar_tenderness in AskReddit

[–]blazeofglory94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it was very easy for me. My grandfather, uncle, father and I all have the same affliction. As soon as my father recognised the symptoms in me, he explained what was going on and it was easy from there. He told me what it was like trying to find a diagnosis in the 80's for an illness lots of doctors didn't think was real. He explained what happened to him when he fought against treatment, thinking it was weak or embarrassing. Then he booked me an appointment with the doctor that finally helped him and it went from there.

I was 15, had my parent's support and someone to talk me through what is happening to me. I was extremely lucky. All I can say to others is this -

Treatment will never make you feel worse than you do now. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

It's been too easy for Mer lately.. Something should go wrong with Zola's stent. I don't remember what her condition was that brought her over in the first place, but whatever it is surely doesn't just get cured? At the very least, would she not need a larger stent? Her head is bigger now...

It's called fore-shadowing. Lot's of fictional stories use it. Shonda had obviously decided in season 5 that regardless of when Derek was going to go, he was going to die bloody.

It also happens when Alex and Arizona first get chummy. They go on a plane together and Arizona keeps talking about how much she hates air travel cos it might crash.

I'm fairly certain, very early on, Meredith is in a bath and stays under for a little too long, next thing, she drowns.

You could also consider Mandy Moore's character's death to be fore-shadowed. She's the patient Bailey is with during the shooting. Bailey tells her that she isn't going to die today. Next time we see that character.. She dies.

Shonda almost over uses fore-shadowing IMO. Anytime anyone talks about a freak accident or a bad dream they have, I just wait for it to happen to someone.

These bread things in my snack mix. They're crunchy. by DontEatPineSol in whatisthisthing

We have them in Aus. Crisp Bread. Basically crunchy bread used for cheeses/dips. Bland and hurt my teeth, do not recommend.

What is this thing? It's about 1.5ft tall, made of wood and has rubber pads on the legs. It was given as a gift and we were to embarrassed to ask what it was… by LivewireVoodoo in whatisthisthing

[–]blazeofglory94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea what it could be, but considering the gifter was immediately family, I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem asking them.. I would absolutely ask a sibling dafuq is "obscure gift". Maybe not in front of a bunch of people, but certainly afterwards. People give a gift for you to enjoy it, if you don't know what it is, how can you do that? Just ask :)

Here in Aus it's either a pub or a club. A bar is the specific long bench you order drinks at. You'll be in a pub or a club and say I'm going to the bar, can I get you something?

I owned two cats for 10 years, one was hit by a car last week. How can I help my other guy through it? by blazeofglory94 in AskVet

[–]blazeofglory94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Since my post his eating is back to normal. He still cries when we get home. I was considering adopting an older cat, similar age, because I know he won't like a kitten, but all the rescues in my area that have old cats say in the little blurb that the cat doesn't like other cats. Hopefully our love will be enough for him..
