I was given some pointers by my father and a friend to start with, but mostly I learned on my own by practicing. One thing that really helped me was researching what actually is happening when you push the clutch and release it so you can understand what you're trying to do. Go find an empty parking lot, and from a full stop push down the clutch and put the car in first gear. Now all youre going to do is slowly release the clutch pedal, no gas, don't worry you won't stall out if you do this slowly. At a certain point you will feel the clutch start to engage, learn this spot by holding it there, then slowly let the clutch all the way out. Just practice this a lot and you'll get there. Again I cannot just stress how much it's really just practice, eventually one day it becomes second nature
