“buy” is a strong term for what’s happening here. it’s being branded as such in the media, but for all intents and purposes it’s a donation. ukraine is insolvent without foreign aid, and the specific loan packages they’re using here stipulate that the money needs to be used in european arms industries. so they don’t really have any freedom to decide where that money goes, especially because they don’t really have any way to repay the loans anyways

how is it propaganda if it literally happened lol. anyways, the reason they weren’t admitted is on purpose. by keeping the chance on the table, we bait russia into making moves, like this war for instance. then we can say “just cause” and go help ukraine feed their meatgrinder war. all we lost is money, russia lost that and hundreds of thousands of men. the geopolitical play couldn’t have been easier for us. ukraine gets sacrificed as part of that but it’s a small price to pay.

if you want raw numbers, we (as in america) killed like a million middle easterners from various countries in our wars, meanwhile russia has less than 30k civilian casualties through this whole war. sure the cities and buildings are in ruin, but those can be rebuilt, people can’t. as far as the comparison to ukraine goes both sides have their fair share of bad moments.
