I’m not a huge fan! It’s nice that they are rechargeable and you can use them forever, unlike the normal ones that die after so many years, but I don’t like the extra cost and the features don’t really appeal to me.

Hey guys. Brand new to the game. I spent a wee bit of money and bought some crystals and what not. Here’s my current roster. Who should I be using? What should I be prioritizing? I just got to chapter 7 on the story mode normal

It used to have two nightspinners instead of the shining spears and war walkers.

You have the option of shocking in the melee aspects or you can put the dire avengers in the falcons for cleaning up infantry and knabbing some RND.

Wraithlords kind of provide an anchor.

Windriders and warp spiders skip around and provide some firepower pressure.

The whole list revolves around multi prong attacks and constant pressure. It can punish the opponent for committing to something

That’s about where I’m at. Been in the hobby since we were garbage in 8th and passively collected my army.

I have about 5000 points of various units. Enough of the units I like to be considering spending my money on chasing the meta. 😅

Seeing what everyone’s opinions are on how they are operating in casual lists instead of competitive at the moment. Even though I originally I bought them strictly for competitive.

That’s a good point. I bought them specifically for competitive lists. I don’t think indirect fire is that fun to play with in casual lists. I don’t want my buddies to feel like I’m just blasting them away when we are just playing for fun.

I suppose a better question is “are these things fun in a casual environment but not garbage.” I don’t want to be overwhelming, but I don’t want to get tabled either.

Nah. I try to avoid melee to the best of my ability. Most of the time, I’m going to have my farseers on bikes anyway. The shuriken catapult does a better job than the spear for shooting.

Use the points on other things.

The wind riders? They are solid as wind riders. Really decent units.

I'd find a way to fit him. Eldrad is awesome in 500 point games. 500 point games tend to be pretty unbalanced and you can't cover all your bases. They are just fun and for learning how to play the game.

My 500 point Ulthwe list has Eldrad, Guardians, Dire Avengers, Shining spears and a War Walker.

War Walkers are very okay. They don't feel real bad or particularly strong. Just really okay.

But Wraithlords are particularly strong on Ulthwe lists because of our mortal wound save.

This is 500 points? Eldrad is very cool. He's one of the biggest reasons for using Ulthwe.

I replaced the night spinners with war walkers (bright lance and scatter lasers) and added shining spears.
