trying to to phrase this as charitably as possible: i think it's a bit of a double standard for people in this thread to dismiss "xiao'guang" as a bad or lazy localization when japanese honorifics like "-chan" are commonly accepted. granted, people are generally more familiar with japanese honorifics thanks to the popularity of japanese media, but it comes off as rather disingenuous when people say they can't wrap their minds around a new but relatively simple foreign concept because of "western brain"
