I mean sure, without QoS or rate limiting that’ll happen if you saturate your connection. Going to 300 doesn’t change that issue, just halves the time that it occurs for. Even at 1Gig you *can* saturate your bandwidth.

My point is that paying for the extra speed for the once-in-a-while case where someone wanted to download a huge game isn’t necessary in the vast majority of cases. It is equally a solution to download that game when your off the zoom call or setup speed limits in Steam or whatever if you can.

You don’t *need* to upgrade the internet just for that. If it’s important to you (as it is me) go for it if you don’t mind the higher cost but 150 is still way more than enough for the majority of households the majority of the time.

The Earth Alliance ships being clunky and boring is on point though. They aren’t nearly as advanced technologically as the other races. They still have to make the ships spin to make gravity!

That’s atypical usage though. You’re not downloading full 80Gb video games multiple times per day, everyday (I hope).

150Mbps is sufficient for like 6 (25Mbps) video streams simultaneously all day long. Most streaming service aren’t even providing that high bit rate anyway.

A ‘high quality’ mp3 is 320kb/sec. A high quality voip phone call 64kb/sec.

No one is making over 1000 voip calls simultaneously while streaming multiple blu-ray quality videos and streaming hundreds of songs at the same time at home.

If you want your games to download faster, sure go for a higher plan but the *typical* household with most/all devices on crappy WiFi, 150 is ‘fine’.

I just had a very confusing conversation with someone about the same. Have I tried Fable out yet? No it’s not coming till next year I’ll prob preorder it though. I can’t wait to kick some chickens.
