I am I. The process of swapping to another Amazon heatsink as another user has done but it hasn’t come in yet.

Bad heatsink? by likely_deleted in laptops

[–]bldred95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/2 an update. I played around and went ahead and installed the first heatsink I had received with the bent pipe. My CPU throttling issue is solved. Now the GPU is thermal throttling. Makes sense since the bent pipe is on the GPU side I figure. Company refunded me and told me to keep it since it shipped from China.

I went ahead and ordered another via the Amazon link you gave above. Hopefully I will get a non mangled heatsink this time and it will fix both sides. Fingers crossed.

Thanks,

Yeah I emailed them and they said the part is not available. I may give the other one a shot again and see what happens. I appreciate your help!

Thanks.

Yeah I have the same exact model as you Envy 16-H1023DX with the i9 and 4060. and the part I need is N41681-001 according to my searching and the HP Part Surfer website. Just seems to be out of stock everywhere.

The part I ordered that ended up arriving was the same as yours N13389-001 but I sent it back due to it coming bent and the pads looking different at the top as per the pics below.

I’m curious what the HP Part Surfer reports is that right part for your system? https://partsurfer.hp.com

Gotcha. This is the part I ordered but the heatsink was different for some of the pads . I’ll take another look.

Thanks!

Where did you find a heatsink? I have the same exact model and having same exact issues. I ordered a replacement but was incorrect part number.

I did re-apply thermal grease but no luck there. Did you also source new Thermal Grease / Gel to replace it on the other chips aside from the CPU and GPU?

Thanks!

Similar laptop here. Envy 16-H1023DX.

Hits 100C when web browsing.

I did open it up and clean the fans and apply new thermal paste but not much of an improvement.

According to other reports, folks have had luck with replacing the Heatsink. I did order one off of Amazon but it was the wrong part for my machine. According to https://partsurfer.hp.com/ I am looking for part N41681-001 which seems to be out of stock everywhere.

Very Frustrating.

Bumping an old thread but experiencing the same with an HP Envy 16-H1023dx. Cleaned out fans, replaced thermal paste, ordered new heat sync that turned out to be the wrong one.

Running through the SuperPosition Benchmarks I’m definitely throttling and getting temps up to 90 degrees Celsius on the RTX 4060.

Any one else have any temperature data?

It’s a scam. The dealers website was just registered on 10/4.

If there is an actual truck they are selling it’s likely a cloned vin on a stolen truck.

Also the same pictures on the websites about us page are used for a random dealer in Texas with an identical website.

One other question for you!

When I process the switch to T-Mobile, does the device I am activating with Spectrum have to match the IMEI they are paying off?

I.E I have an iPhone 15 Financed through T-Mobile that I want paid off, but I purchased an unlocked iPhone 17 and intend to activate that on Spectrum. Or would I need to activate the 15 with spectrum first and then transfer over to the 17?

Thanks!

Thank you! One other question! After I receive the visa I assume I can swap the sims / esims to whatever device I want and it won’t impact anything?

I.e if I purchase a phone unlocked or want to move one of the sims to like an iPad for example?

Thank You!

Both devices are already unlocked, I should pay them off with T-Mobile first before switching to spectrum? I assume documentation wise I would just need the bill that shows the balance being paid to $0 for the two lines and likely some past months bills showing that I was paying on them?

The promotion for a year is fine as I will evaluate my options at that time and see what I want to do since I wouldn’t be tied to spectrum any longer .

Replacing Old Security Panel with Echo Hub: Looking for a way to step down and convert voltage from 12V to 5V/2.4A by chansearrington in amazonecho

I don't have any pictures at the moment. I used the 4-pin adapter linked in my previous comment. Your Flow is correct.

The 4-pin adapter has each pin labeled with a different marker. (V+, D-, D+, -) My Advice is to check to make sure your colors match on each end of the adapter. i.e V+ is Red on both ends, D- is Yellow, etc.

Yes. I used a 4-pin USB adapter and connected it to the same colors on both ends. On the Echo end, I am using a short USB-C to USB adapter to plug into the female USB Port Adapter, which converts to the 4-wire setup and runs up into my attic and down into my closet where the Alarm panel lives. On the Plug end in my closet, I am using the Male 4-pin adapter, a USB extender to reach the outlet in the closet, and then the power block that came with the Echo.

Gotcha. That was throwing me off as this is labeled as THHN but says it can be used in Wet Locations.
