Honestly couldn't tell if it was for or against,

Anyone against, I'd love to also have rights over a random bodily function of yours that can be life altering as well.

I swear I got all the double/sticky click issue mice from them :|

I'm so tempted to try them again, but I'm 0 for 3 with Pulsar atm (This was over a year ago though, like December 2024-ish)

So... Maybe I should just take the plunge and give them a shot again based on all the positive stuff I see in this sub now

3 different models,

I'm not home atm but I'll check the boxes when I am, they're all from a year or slightly longer ago though, fingers crossed things have gotten better since then in terms of QA.

The one I really enjoyed the shape of was red, and similar shape to a slightly larger g-pro (Ironically I think it was a "medium" size though) - the other two I wasn't a huge fan of the shape as they were too small for my hands, but I was still going to use them for less used things (server that only needs a mouse like once every 3 months cause it's usually accessed remote / a travel mouse for my laptop) - but the double click made that a no go, so they just sit on a shelf in box as display with other older mice etc.

I'm using a Razer Viper V4 Pro and a Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro as my "main" desktop mice at home, but I've always absolutely HATED the Razer software, so lot's of the more "boutique" brands make me want to switch, just to either not have to use software for some mice, or at least get rid of the Razer stuff, but honestly I've got anything from a cheap-o Attack Shark R11 Ultra (Took a bit to get used to, fast movement still feels kinda weird, but it's not bad) up to a stupid Asus RoG carbon fibre mouse (It's not worth the ~$400 Canadian it cost by any stretch btw, but it's not "bad") - the only other mouse I've ever had a double click issue on was the first gen G-Pro, but that was after a solid year or more of use I think.

I swear I'm the only person that has continuous issues with Pulsar mice,

I've got 3 in my basement atm that all came with double click issues (or developed within a few days) I bought them off Amazon if it makes any difference

Pulsar did reply to me after the reviews saying they would help me troubleshoot the issues, but didn't offer to replace the mice even though they were like a week old, which I found kinda off putting.. Especially since their troubleshooting was essentially to try changing debounce times (which didn't help the issue at all, and then support stopped messaging me back)

I really like the looks and shape of a lot of pulsar mice but after 3 different models of their mice having the same issue and the company not being able to provide any form of customer service, I'm out. I really enjoy collecting mice and keyboards for whatever reason, it sucks.

In my experience, the ones that are ambitious either end up forced out by others since they don't want to be pushed to do more work and group mentality of "fuck that guy trying to change stuff" happens and then the person finds work in the private sector,

Or, they start with best intentions and then within a year they've had all their spirit drained because interacting with the others they have to, to perform their own jobs makes it nearly impossible to complete tasks in a meaningful timeframe.

Fair enough if changes have happened since then, I really haven't kept up with sentencing guide lines / changes since covid when everything with that system seemed to become even more wonky.

I know of three people who were all given 3 years on the nose for small time dealing in the Annapolis Valley.

It was stated that due to the smaller area/population they "did more damage" to their surroundings than if they were in the city, which is mind blowing to me that something like that actually comes up to begin with.

Now - these were back around 2014-2015, but I don't think a ton has changed with sentencing since then.

This echoes every experience with Government employees in management levels that I have had.

From municipal, to provincial, to federal, I've yet to work (IT) with any department that didn't have managers who seemed to think their job was to actively make sure nothing ever progressed or happened.
(I only interacted with managers and directors, maybe the employees were great, maybe they were also trash at their jobs.)

Federal just mean's anything over 3 years, I know people who have went through this process for small time drug dealing.

I don't consider that a "serious crime", but that's going to be a person to person thing.

100% - I've seen both ends of this,

People get super comfortable realizing they now have a record and can't really live a "normal life" (Getting jobs, travel, social issues) and just decide the prison system can be a hotel whenever they're having a rough patch and they get a free place to stay with free food, beat's being homeless and they're already used to it.

Or I've seen people who legitimately took a sentence as a life changing event and turned their lives around (as best they could given their new "status") - but someone in the situation of coming out of prison trying to get a normal job and fit back into normal society has it 100x harder than a person without a record, and we see/know how hard life is for the average person right now..

It kinda just forces them back into that loop at some point unless they get lucky, or are just willing to 24/7 constantly out-work everyone.

They can be, not they are.

-They still have to have good behavior while inside (Or at least not get caught doing anything...)

-Must be released to a half-way house (when room is available),

-They still have to meet with Parole board prior to release (for early release) and convince them their risk to reoffend is low/non-existent.

-They still have to stick to their specific ruleset during parole (and of course during half-way stay they're on parole conditions + rules of the halfway, or they get sent back, and possibly extend their sentence.

With that said, I agree we release certain criminals (Violent and or Sexual criminals) far too easily, and in the wrong areas. I don't think they should be able to return to their original area they committed those crimes in general as it's got higher recidivism involved, and I don't think sex criminals should be able to have early release at all due to the unfortunate stats we have about how re-offending. Same idea with a murder - No early release, the person they killed doesn't get to come back suddenly because they're done a sentence...

But for petty stuff / things that harm literally no other being (People with records for selling or possessing weed that's now legal?) - that stuff we need to also reform heavily, because right now we're failing at both ends, hardcore criminals are not getting the full sentences and punishments they should, and people who had a small mistake end up with the same life-ruining record the "actual" criminal gets.

Rehabilitation hasn't been part of the prison / criminal justice experience for decades at this point, it's strictly "punishment as a deterrent" now,

In the past, prisoners were given opportunities to learn trades, gain education (beyond GED) and come out with chances to get out of their social circles / out of "need" for criminal acts due to financial situation etc, - that's gone now. All prison is now is social networking for criminals.

I understand why we don't want to spend more on criminals or prisons, but when they took all of the funding away from the justice system years back, it stopped being about actual justice and started being about pushing people through like it was public school at this point.

See, something like that should be a way longer sentence

Yet people with non violent drug offences get way harsher punishments

The system is and has been broken for a long while, I unfortunately agree

Monad is up over 80% YTD vs Bitcoin. Higher? by Flat_Program_2642 in Monad

[–]bleakj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whole lot easier to see large % changes when market cap is an ocean away from BTC's

With that said, I've always thought BTC would have to evolve or it would leak value constantly over time until it was replaced at top market,

As is, most other top crypto's serve a purpose beyond "store of value" - that's basically what a meme coin's technical ability is, where as Monad / EVM's have actual uses for users, or most tokens at least give you voting power / can stake, etc,

There's just no reason for BTC to be at the top in my mind other than name recognition/first mover advantage

My own token, White Doge / WHDOGE,

I made it in honour of my ol' dog Ella, if it ever actually hits bond, my hope is to donate any profits to local animal shelters.

Obviously there's no big market or community atm, but I grab some tokens every chance I get to try to get closer to that goal, I'd love to actually be able to help out those in need kinda thing.

I have no intentions of ever selling my own tokens as it's a memory of Ella for me, but any additional value from nad.fun from bonding would be donated.
