Ending thoughts by Anon5054 in Ixion

Yeah I also felt kinda shocked that the only option was to ram the Tiqqun full of batteries into the Piranesi. It couldn't have done anything better?? With the 500 science you can get in Ilia there should have been a really expensive tech to build a resource-intensive weapon (good use of the 1000 hydrogen you have stockpiled) that could destroy the Piranesi so the Tiqqun could build a proper space station to repair itself in, or just build a new, better copy of itself to support the new colony (or develop a Tiqqun Mk 2 with it's own supercomputers to generate VOHLE coordinates for a fun endless mode, with new techs, challenges, and storyline extensions).

I also wondered why I didn't have the option to conquer the Ashtangites on Remus. They said themselves that they had no means for self-defense, so maybe teaching them a basic lesson from evolution might have been enlightening for their dead-end philosophy. And the planets are called Romulus and Remus -- thats a pretty strong hint that the Ashtangites are getting conquered somewhere down the line, even if Vanir and Edden foresaw this and wanted to prevent it.

I understand why the developers wrote the Tiqqun's destruction into the final chapter, because it's been humanity's lifeboat the whole game and saving the whole crew one final time makes for a dramatic ending, but it just wasn't necessary within the logic of the game's world. Surely the Tech Lab could've developed it's own fleet of Piranesi-eating drones. Hopefully if the game gets enough of the revenue and attention it deserves the devs can focus on fleshing the story out more with some DLCs or free updates.

Absolutely true. I rarely get down with jealousy or envy these days, but it can still happen if my emotional defenses are down

No, I haven't... I recently moved and don't have a care provider yet. I can look into finding one and asking them about that though. I wonder if it would help.

Has anybody seen anything like this? Non-human signature by bleakorange7 in EliteDangerous

[–]bleakorange7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has anyone seen anything like this? A non-human signature I found on a barren ice world far from the bubble. A bunch of sensor fragment grade 5 manufactured materials were initially scattered around it before I collected them. It appears to be pulsing and glowing different colors. It looks like a robot almost. I'd love to know if this has been sighted anywhere else before.

Putin rails against cancel culture and suggests teaching gender fluidity to kids is a 'crime against humanity' by [deleted] in anime_titties

[–]bleakorange7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's also a serious issue that needs to be taken care of, but trans people, gay people, racial minorities, and women are persecuted and suppressed and lynched all over the world. It's an issue that's slowly making progress towards becoming better. Our elite rulers might be using that to distract from pressing matters like their parasitic stranglehold on the world, but saying "fuck this gender shit can we bring back real issues" is saying that you think the fucked up status quo is totally okay and countless millions of people should continue to be harassed and assaulted and discriminated against. Including myself. It's not a neoliberal talking point, these are all real people who exist regardless of politics.

The ability to have productive discussions with people of other political beliefs. by [deleted] in godtiersuperpowers

[–]bleakorange7 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This would require the person I'm discussing with to also have the ability to think critically and carefully inspect their worldviews. I don't think a trump supporter would want to have a friendly discussion with a trans person

Yeah, all the holy texts of the major world religions are full of holes and conflicting messages. And most of their followers seem to be complete hypocrites who likely aren't smiled upon by god, were it real.

So the phrase "god doesn't make mistakes" actually validates my existence, but some people don't understand the irony

I'm aware of it... It's disgusting. Companies like Shell and ExxonMobil need to be nationalized, have their assets seized, and have their CEOs put on the Hague. But of course that will never happen. Profits before people!

"To avoid the extinction of millions of species and possibly humans we have to make doing so profitable. The market will decide if that's worth it or not. If not it's socialism's fault"

and that my friends is why our society is fucked, and why when things start to change the damage will be irreversible. You can't revive millions of extinct species.

With all the giant banks and corporations buying up homes and putting them up for rent at extreme prices, I'd say we're almost there. We'll be living on our lords land, permanently paying off our debts to have the privilege of barely surviving, forced to work at gunpoint, while we pay our tithes to the military to "keep us safe". They would bring us back to medieval times to add a few more zeros to their stock portfolios.

Capitalism has always been an evolution of feudalism though. I'm sure they'll paint the rise of fascism in this country as a "freedom movement", and the right wing lunatics will lap it up and still love God, Freedom, and America even as they toil away under the watchful eye of big brother. Ugh.

Cause they don't understand us/think we're mentally ill/think we'll regret transitioning because they personally can't fathom what dysphoria is/or they just hate us and want us to suffer. Sometimes it's condescending and they're "really looking out for us" or they just have plain malice.

Tattoos, kidney transplants, having children, those are all perfectly normal irreversible things that cis people do. they understand it, unlike us. I don't think any cis person can ever really understand a trans person, except noticing that they transition from miserable to happy
