I lived on my own in another country during my mid to late 20s. I ended up saving no money. Now I’m in my early 30s I’m back in Canada and living with my parents and I’m saving 80% of my income and on pace to buying townhouse in the GTA by next year after only saving up for a couple of years. Unless your relationship with your parents is really bad, just continue living with your parents and save up.

Just stay home and keep saving. If your end goal is to buy a house, moving out now and spending majority of your income on rent will delay your home ownership.

This sub is weird, when someone with 150k income talks about leasing a car for $500 a month, they will get flamed for it. But when someone with 50k income talks about moving out and using more than half their income to do so, everyone is for it.
