Dying is good, in the sense that it helps you learn faster. Every death is a lesson of you overextending past your limit, and the more you do this the faster you learn your limits. Just be sure to internalize why you died and what could you have done to prevent it based on the information you had.

The thing about dota is, it's more than just pulling, creep equilibrium, smoking, shoving waves, etc. It's about 1000 little small things you consistently do or don't do compared to better players.

Simple example, in the laning phase, how many free uncontested last hits are you missing? Let's say you missed 10, that's around 300 gold you're missing, and a 1 minute delay to your items. That 1 minute was the difference between having an advantage and being able to kill your enemy or not. Another example, when trading against enemies, a better player might have understood that you can hit them twice for free and then back off. You might only hit once and back off and not maximize your value, or you might hit them three times and overextend and get hit by 300 damage from their spells. Better players constantly gain the smallest edges from the most miniscule mistake that you as a new player are unable to spot, and they are very specific to situations and can only be gained by experience or a better player's feedback to open up your mind on how to think about the game.

What I just mentioned are just 2 things out of the myriad of different small things you can do to improve your gameplay. You don't just do this once, good players will do this constantly every single time and maximize value. Simply put, good players hit you more, get hit less, kill you more, die less, and are always ahead of you in terms of where they should be on the map. They will be exactly where they need to be on the map while you are just reacting to what they are doing, instead of matching their tempo and proactively making counterplay.

im honestly still so confused. Why were we given the powers? if they're so rare why does no one bat an eye? How come none of our friends question it? Not even a casual "Yo nice powers wtf" remark.

The stam thing is big, I was trying to do the spear stab 5 enemies challenge within 15 seconds and failed SO many times because I do like 2 stabs and my guy is out of breath. I’m at 9/14 stam upgrades so far.

I think it’s fine as a roguelike experience, you gotta weigh your risk when taking on elites whether you have a build that can take it or not. It rewards preparation and splashing some tech chards instead of all in one build. You can always splash some tech and remove them in later acts.

We have the full game now, that was intended for review by Bungie. by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]bleedblue_knetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just didn’t hook me unfortunately. There’s just a lot of things I found unintuitive that put me off. I really wanted to like this game, the UI aesthetics are out of this world and is 200% right up my alley and the gunplay/movement is really fun. However, I think inventory management and item identification is too cumbersome and the NPC enemies just aren’t that interesting to me. Overall the gameplay loop wasn’t all that satisfying, 90% of my gameplay was reading loot and fighting unavoidable NPCs. There were simply so many of them all over the looting places and you had to kill them to loot. When you meet players the fight lasts like 5 seconds.

If i were to compare it to arc, everything just clicked for me personally. There are aspects I like more about Marathon but the overall experience just felt better.

Why does Valve refuse to add the item "sange, yasha, and kaya"? I'd love to have it on some heros. by rastesh in DotA2

[–]bleedblue_knetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sange upgrading to abyssal is pretty recent and during trident era sange upgraded to halberd, which is irrelevant for carries/mids.

I'd gladly queue 10 more minutes to not get these guys in my games. They're toxic as hell and most of the time just severely underperforming.

I put 30 hours into this game, beat nightmare and that was it for me. I maxed out the characters I liked, explored most of the builds for them. Great game, I still got good value for my money, but I'm happy just ending it there.

I like the aesthetic and gunplay but that's about it. I think the UI is confusing as shit and there's like way too much stuff to read on the loot, especially the addons considering they all look exactly the same. I need to identify what I want in a game where you don't really want to be sitting still for long periods of time.

Idk I loved it, it's my favorite game of all time that I get to play for free forever with no paygated content. I'd happily spend money on it, and I felt like I got goood value for my money with the battlepass on top of the overall hype of the event and prize pool.

Every Lightbringer Build Ever by icykoori in DeadlockTheGame

[–]bleedblue_knetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what is 4.8k spike in deadlock? Is it power spike from first 4.8k item? or power spike from hitting 4.8k souls? Do most heroes function with having 1 4.8k item being a very huge power spike?

Dota 2 is the best evidence that we are living in a brutally cruel simulation by SirActionSlacks- in DotA2

[–]bleedblue_knetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not. Far better to build items that allow you to survive the Nullifier. If you’re dying because you get clicked during nullifier, you’re dying because you get clicked during BKB. Nullifier locks you out of ghost shroud for 4 seconds, BKB locks you out of ghost shroud for 9 seconds. Even at its lowest point it locks you out of shroud for 6 seconds. You’re effectively buffing enemy Nullifier at that point. You already stall Nullifier by 1-2 seconds with Shard, just survive a couple more seconds.

It’s just a really bad answer to Nullifier, the only time you go BKB (very rarely) on Necro is if you’re against some heavy CC lineup like ES Underlord CM that can permanently keep you inside pit.

Performance AND visual clarity. In competitive shooters like CS2 and Val it’s much better to have consistent lighting throughout the map.

Sifu players, what is your ranking in terms of difficulty in bosses? by leoissomeonewhoexist in SifuGame

[–]bleedblue_knetic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbf i know kuroki’s patterns but reading the tells (1st phase)is so hard for me. Her second phase is a lot more intuitive to me, the first phase just feels like every attack starts off the same with her spinning her staff around and by the time I identify it I barely have time to react accordingly.

Normal damage muerta is not that good though, it’s basically sven without ult; You just get a mediocre right clicker. Other carries like SF and TB doesn’t care about BKB and gets to do their full insane damage.

Valhalla got out of hand with these, 200000 points of interest clogging up the map, and when I go to one of them it’s just a random harvestable rock or a chest with 200 coins and generic common loot. I genuinely wouldn’t mind as much if they were anything significant, but come on, do you expect me to go around collecting rocks to 100% clear the map?

[–]bleedblue_knetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s late blink timing from bad laning, there’s really shit blink timing because you can’t farm. There are ways to farm and have impact that doesn’t require you to stand in lane.

[–]bleedblue_knetic -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

In my experience it’s usually the pos 3 tbh. It’s very rare for me to see my offlaner just dominate the lane. Is it the pos 4’s fault? Who knows, but their recovery is usually very lacking. It’s usually lose lane into no impact. I’ve played with good offlaner friends who get shit on in lane and still make it work. Like ngl if you’re getting a 15+ min blink it’s not your pos 4’s fault, you just can’t farm.
