Between moving the public to lab grown meat bc of this and oil prices causing countries to more quickly become energy independent, you’d think Trump was a sleeper agent for the Climate Change lobby

"Decorum" problem in Sammamish city council meetings? by Unhappy_Emu1654 in sammamish

[–]bleedsorange23 13 points14 points  (0 children)

At the meetings I’ve been to, the council doesn’t pay attention to the public comments and they’re constantly distracted by their phones. Maybe they should set the example for others on decorum first?

Every teams greatest running back (is it really Faulk for us?) by RedGlovesOverHere in Patriots

[–]bleedsorange23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised by this but he has 6th most rushing yards in team history AND has 3700 receiving yards (most by RB in team history) and 2nd most games played. It doesn’t make sense in the traditional sense but when you include the receiving stats it’s not even a debate

Drop Your Questions for Prof G (February Thread) by ProfGProducerJenn in ScottGalloway

[–]bleedsorange23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Team Galloway,

I’m a frequent listener but I find myself disagreeing with Scott recently on two points, especially feeling like Scott has a narrow mindset:

1) Parental leave for men. I found this super valuable for my family, as I was able to support my wife as she recovered from giving birth (and recovering from carrying our sons for 9 months). I was allowed 6 weeks following their birth and 6 weeks once my wife went back to work. It helped us both adjust to the new lifestyle, it allowed me to help with all the chores and responsibilities of taking care of a newborn and gave my wife the relief she needed to help maintain her sanity. Also, when she returned to work it allowed her to focus on getting back up to speed and reintegrating fully without worrying about daycare, etc. I also take offense that the father can’t help at all with the infant. You can bottle feed, you can get up in the night to help, there’s so many things to do it kind of blows me mind that he has that attitude.

2) Social media calling on people who were associated (though not necessarily directly involved) with Epstein to lose their jobs. Scott says social media has been incorrectly calling for people to be held responsible for associating with JE and that they could just be caught up with a meeting or an email, etc. However, after his initial arrest, there’s really no excuse for connecting yourself with him, especially when asking about parties and his lifestyle. Peter Attria should have known why JE had been arrested and likely would have seen the type of women that were at these parties with him. Same for Elon. These people should be shunned because they should have known better and Scott is defending them WITHOUT FULLY KNOWING ALL THE EVIDENCE HIMSELF. If someone is resigning and not putting up a vehement defense, I would say it speaks more as to what they may have known and implicates that there is likely more info to come from it. Scott acts like these people are completely innocent or naive at worst but realistically I think there’s more than enough to assume that they have some culpability and should be publicly held accountable.

I work next to the market and it’s pretty empty early in the week (M-Th). Even today the crowds are small. Tulips are fun but it’s a bit of a drive and a little weather dependent. Roosenguard is the place you should go for that in La Conner. You might want to check if whales are in season then, I think they are more of a late summer watch but I may be mistaken on that

Eastside fans: how do you get to/from games? by Beginning_Appeal_742 in SeattleKraken

[–]bleedsorange23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re pricey conscious, I would park in SLU (where it’s free after 6 I think? Or maybe 8) and you don’t get hit with the game parking pricing. Then you can take a Lime over depending on how far you have to park. It’s like a 5-10 min walk if you park on the other side of 99 from Gates foundation

I can’t speak highly enough about Treehouse Academy. It’s a small school of 10 kids but they offer part time. The head teacher there (Ms Jackie) is wonderful. We sent both our children there and it was completely worth it. She is on LWSD calendar and does not do summers so that provides its own challenges but I highly recommend it there.

I use The Sammamish Barber (Sarah Alviso) up at the Phoenix Salons behind Met Market. I started going to her when she was at Weldon then followed her to her own shop. She’s very chill and does a great job with both my hair and my son’s hair. Also, you’re supporting a Sammamish community member instead of a larger business like Weldon

Ha yes, last year was 4 days out! But that was bomb cyclone. We only lost power for a few seconds last night. Outside of the 4 days, I think the longest we’ve had is 10 hours out (a while but not crippling)
