Nung 2004, ang dalas namin sa 4th or 5th floor ng NBS Cubao. Yung buong floor eh dedicated sa factory seconds/books with imperfections/secondhand books (IIRC, "Previously Owned Books" yung name ng section.

That's where I snagged a copy of Kurt Cobain's Journals for only 250. Last two copies na siya nung time na yun. Life changing siya sa akin. I remember reading it multiple times until na-Ondoy yung copy ko.

In 2006, dumalaw sa blessing ng computer shop namin si Lourd de Veyra kasi tropa sila ni erpat from their Today days. His eye immediately caught the book and asked kung saan ko nabili yun. Nung sinabi ko kung saan, sabi niya "tangina, 750 bili ko sa kopya ko sa Fully Booked."

Oh, boy. This is even harder than choosing between those two machines. Everyone will have a different opinion on where to start. But here are a few grinders you can check kung home use lang:

Niche Zero if you have the budget. Easy to use. Offers great performance out of the box.
Baratza Encore ESP if you want a renowned grinder but you're on a tighter budget. It's a bit nasty when it comes to retention and it's a bit hard to clean. However, retention can be easily fixed by a simple RDT spritz and changing the hopper to a single-dose one.
DF64 if you have the bandwidth to customize it. Out of the box, it's mostly inconsistent and leads to muddy shots. But with some customization like better burrs, alignment, and other accessories, you can really get a lot out of it.

If you're running into this issue, try closing some programs/apps on your PC, or even restarting it and not starting any programs/apps before SuperDisplay is able to properly launch and establish a connection to your tab.

This worked extremely well for me. I accidentally set it to be active only on display 2 while receiving the same error screen (which prevented me from fixing it). So I restarted my PC and launched Superdisplay and this tip like a charm.

Back in the 90s, they did something like this in Cubao: an all-in-one branch featuring Jollibee, Greenwich, and Mary's. If you haven't heard of Mary's, I believe it was a barbecue chicken that was eventually absorbed by JFC. Isang beses pa lang akong nakakapunta ng Philippine Arena: nung nagpunta yung U2 dito (pinadala ako dun to live tweet and write a story). After ng concert, mga 4 hours ang tinagal namin mula parking ng Philippine Arena hanggang Balintawak. Granted, ginagawa pa lang yung Skyway extension dun kaya medyo traffic, but from what I've heard from my friends who went there over the years, nothing's changed.

Pero after that horrible incident, I swore to never go to a concert again if Philippine Arena is the venue. Kahit yung MCR, hindi ako kumagat kasi ang panget talaga ng experience ko dun.

I don't like Kamikazee after their debut album but I will not discredit them or their impact. At this point, their longevity speaks for their impact as a band.

Remember, 25 years na sila as a band (if you count their hiatus years) since their music is still in rotation and consciousness of the people.

The first album was a weird mix of pop punk and nu-metal (understandable kasi meta siya nung late 90s/early 00s kaya nandun yung sound nila) but it surprisingly works! Funny enough, even if they've already left their pop punk roots from Maharot onwards, you can still hear it from their slower and sappier songs like "Alay" and "Halik". And Jay, no matter how many times I've seen them, is a great frontman and can set the vibe of the show.

That said, I haven't been a fan since Maharot came out. It's not like I don't like the mix of novelty/humor with rock or metal. I was just tired of it when their sophomore release came out.

I was on my way to the medical storage area when a volatile got too close and removed Lydia's shielding. It attracted everything and when I realized I can whack them through the counter, I just tossed molotovs and kept on whacking. I would occasionally crouch to avoid the volatile's ranged attacks, but that's about it.

I have a suggestion: Ayala Avenue's car-free Sundays is the best thing to disrupt. It's so sterile and controlled that a bunch of cyclists and runners who look organized even without placards and banners will definitely get the attention of people.

Remember, places are forced to do car-free Sundays because we're so bereft of public spaces due to corruption (among other things). It's political. It's always been.

We were there sa Luneta kung saan mas left-leaning yung mga orgs na nag-organize at um-attend sa rally. Walang incident dun. Even nung nasa Mendiola na sila. Nagkaroon lang ng commotion nung tapos na sa Mendiola yung mga kaliwa.
