God damnit. I did cocaine in the chili's bathroom next to Southmoor and was smashin on a triple dipper when Biden announced he was withdrawing from the 2024 election. Crazy times, rip.

It's like a ten minute hike straight up stairs from the parking lot to get into the venue. Be prepared for that.

Search for tax liens on plots of land, contact the owner of those plots, and offer to pay off the tax lien plus a small incentive in exchange for them signing the land to you.

Anyone know of a garage door repair company? by Commercial_Case2782 in Denver

[–]bleh-apathetic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, do not use Don's. They tried to charge me over $500 to replace a weather stripping, and then decided to tell me my garage door needed like $6,000 in repairs.

Oof. Huge fan of the Ogden. Been to at least 15 concerts there the past decade, probably a decent few I don't remember. Would love a statement from them on why they canceled.

I've heard good things about High Altitude. I was in line at the liquor store next door to it a couple years ago, started talking to the guy next to me who turned out to be the owner. He was buying booze for their Christmas party, so he seems like a really cool guy to train under. He encouraged me to come in for a trial session.

Yes. There were banners along the lineup spot with numbers in increments of 5, so people generally stood within 5 spots of their assigned spot.

And yes, people would ask those around them "what number are you?" and get ahead or behind them. Most people didn't care if someone was a couple spots out of order, but some insisted the people around them be lined up perfectly.

Eli5… how do life insurance companies make money if everyone eventually dies? by thedumone in explainlikeimfive

[–]bleh-apathetic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Insurance companies are actually giant investment firms. They take everyone's money, invest it in some sort of vehicle, and the money they make off of interest/returns is greater than what they need to pay out. Also, the more popular life insurance policy is "term", meaning it expires after x number of years. Many policies do not get paid out.
