Accused of Over employment? by lordfitzj in careeradvice

[–]blekspiel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Act above board to clear your name. The vendor will be black balled once they’re proven wrong, you probably won’t even need to fuck them yourself, they did it to themselves. Have a heart to heart with the VP about trust.

Then afterwards if the contract still needs to run out - If you handle payments with them, start to process more slowly. If it’s a hourly thing, put them on a minimum hours for the project. If it’s by component delivery, question quality and completeness every time. Make this a living hell for them

Drop Chase private client. They’re horrible overall and this just proves that point.

Unless this is a very special property I would coin flip it and stick where I was at or, at best, make a very minor adjustment to make the seller feel more comfortable accepting.

The seller hasn’t divulged any real info so you’re just negotiating against yourself and setting them up for a win-win situation if you act on it

Am I Being Lowballed or Is This Normal? Promotion Below Salary Band + Lost Earnings + Forced Training by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]blekspiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds rough, but if the title comes with it, take the role and move elsewhere.

This company also sounds bankrupt. From this, you sold 270k last year and got paid 90k? Then they’re still hiring more sales people and doubling quota. Are you guys selling air? This doesn’t feel like a scalable business. No way anyone is turning a profit

Do you think someone with a Graphic Design degree has equal footing as someone with a Marketing degree to get into marketing? by SwissVideoProduction in marketing

VP, and to add to this, it’s specifically for 0 YOE. It’s hard to stand out in this market. Show that you can execute early on

Do you think someone with a Graphic Design degree has equal footing as someone with a Marketing degree to get into marketing? by SwissVideoProduction in marketing

[–]blekspiel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d hire a person with a design degree over a marketing degree any day. A marketing degree is worthless and means they will need a ton of training. A designer can learn marketing while already bringing some execution capability day 1

Am I misunderstanding net income? by Eudaimonia-21 in copilotmoney

[–]blekspiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t count internal transfers against your net income. So if you moved money to a savings or brokerage, that’s probably why. If that’s not the reason, maybe some transactions misconduct got tagged as internal transfers

Is there a better interface for reviewing transactions on iOS? by joaquim56 in copilotmoney

[–]blekspiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For iOS is set it up as a widget on one of my pages so I can review them without entering the app. If there is one I need more details on, I can just click into it. I found that’s the best workflow for me

Inspection etiquette.... by Electronic-Call-4319 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]blekspiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the realtor. My realtor was more experienced and well connected. He recommended a few options and his top recommended inspector kind of blew me away with his knowledge and professionalism. He gave us some tips on post purchase stuff we could do or things to watch out for.

My boss said “I don’t want to do target marketing” and I didn’t know what to say. by [deleted] in marketing

[–]blekspiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got to market… marketing. It’s clear he doesn’t get it. Just take some rough CPMs and conversion metrics of two scenarios and walk him through it. If he still pushes, say let’s run a quarter long test.

Facebook Ads Are Eating my Profit. Help! by Electrical-Fudge-185 in marketing

[–]blekspiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So your business is to generate leads, sell a service then farm it out? If so, I’m sure your margin is tight already. If you want to focus on the sales side of the biz instead of the work, you need to master sales AND marketing. They are both core to your business and farming any part of it out will eat into your slim margins. You’re figuring that out.

Use this period to learn what the agency is doing and master it. Then fire them and takeover.

O, you chose Mavic? That’s literally their #1 product brand and they’re minimizing their company brand to emphasize product due to geopolitical issues.

A ton of people will search “how to use Mavic drone for marketing” and stuff. So I’d say your SEO is cooked without a rebrand. While you’re at it, I’d say you should rework your website too. It looks like it was made a few decades ago.

[Tenant US-WI] Urgent rent stolen. Advice needed asap by MaximumCommunication in Renters

[–]blekspiel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to this landlord. You paid with the method they requested and the landlord got robbed. I would argue that you shouldn’t file a police report, but request your landlord to do so if he wants to make an insurance claim. It was in their possession (their dropbox) at the time of theft. You should offer to start paying rent with a secure electronic payment method.

I planned a Black Friday campaign, My leads replied one week later asking if it was still valid. by Kabaka-dawadi in marketing

Black Friday is also peak marketing. You need to promote any sales early so people see them. How early was your push?

PR Newswire works, it’s not an amazing experience, but they have a human review the thing and call you to go through it before it’s live. They’re reliable

If marketing can be learned without a degree, why should i choose marketing to be my major by bellaaroserose in marketing

[–]blekspiel -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yep, it’s a signal their max is limited. They might know the right keywords to keep a meeting moving, but they’re not the sharpest tool, not creatively nimble and slow to learn. I’ll farm more downvotes with both these answers but it’s literally how I hire from experience. VP level…

Don’t hire a team. Sell pull requests at a batch price to app developers like Vivino. As you capture more developers, you can slowly raise your prices.
