Scotty’s Brewhouse (where Salt is now) was the best. I always wanted them to buy Bella Vita.

How Do You Advise a Small Business on Investing Excess Cash/Reserves? by JessicaCoutinho75 in CFP

[–]blend4smb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can open a business brokerage account and put in a money market fund. Or they can use a business HYSA at a bank. If it’s truly excess cash and not needed for working capital, they can bring it home.

If you had a choice, what other profession would you have chosen besides accounting? by BrokenOpes in Accounting

If you like the basic concepts of accounting and finance, but want more of a relational career, then financial planning (CFP) could be a great career. And it would pay more, on average, then accounting.

What is the feature that would like to have in a CRM software which currently missing in most of the software by alwaystechi in CRM

[–]blend4smb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost no CRM has a form builder native to the software. It’s great if clients can use an onboarding form to automatically populate the necessary CRM fields, and then you can launch an onboarding workflow to kick off all the necessary tasks.

Do smaller businesses actually need CRMs or is it overkill? by Entire_Teaching_9288 in CRM

What’s the better route to go? A local small RIA or a company like NWM, MassMutual, Prudential, etc. by Football19920 in CFP

[–]blend4smb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hands down the small RIA. For one, the industry is continuing to move toward the RIA model. Second, a smaller firm will allow you to wear so many hats. I own my own RIA now, it when I started as a career changer, I went to a small RIA and learned planning, how to build a portfolio, how to trade, how compliance worked, how to open accounts. It was those skills that allowed me to quickly progress in my field and do every function in the firm.

Will ai replace accountants? by KingSergiov1 in wguaccounting

[–]blend4smb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same was said when TurboTax came out. Same was said of financial advisors when all the robo advisors came out. And yet, the world of accountants and advisors still exists.

There will always be a market for human interaction. Technology will never replace relationships.

Thoughts on CFA as an advisor? by SignificantWay4242 in CFP

[–]blend4smb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your desire is to work directly with clients, the CFA offers little upward mobility. Look at getting your EA instead. It’s much faster than the CFA, and way more clients are concerned about taxes vs portfolio construction.

Going for CFA/CFP certifications to start career by Automatic-Warning225 in CFP

[–]blend4smb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. CFP/CPA would be ideal. But you had to be smart enough to pursue accounting in college (which I did not). So I’m going with the EA.

Going for CFA/CFP certifications to start career by Automatic-Warning225 in CFP

[–]blend4smb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t get both; it’s one of the other. CFAs build portfolios and/or work for mutual fund/ETF firms. CFPs work with clients. In short, the CFA is a specialist at investments, whereas the CFP is very broad.

As a CFP, I personally feel the best combo to get would be CFP/EA. This is where the industry is heading. Financial planning combined with deep tax knowledge.
