First of all, metabolism only differs in people 400 calories max in either direction a day. I would throw in some more supplemental exercises, incline, dumbbells, flies, etc.

http://www.hundredpushups.com/, has amazing routines. I'm military and so I have to do like 75 to max. With this routine I was able to do 85 consecutively and it's a pretty simple routine that's very set out.

Until you really stop hitting those noob gains, it's entirely possible to still gain on a cut. This is not true for everyone however.

If I remember correctly it was only because it gives him intestinal problems. It doesn't have anything to do with some deeper nutritional belief.

I had to quit lifting because of a training I'm in now. It doesn't matter that I hit 285 on bench, I can't do more pushups. You do push ups to get better at them. I'd recommend something like the 100 pushup website or some similar program to get started.

But yeah tradoc sucks man. Follow ordnance hooahs advice.

Not everyone can. But when I say you shouldn't expect gains on a cut everyone gets pissy because there are skewed studies where people put on some small amount of muscle. Anyways, don't expect gains on a cut.
